No, i've already played through more than half the campaign, and no obious hints as to if the Kryyn even exist{in the storyline, anyway}. Maybe the Kryyn were in the story from the beggining, being hinted at in very discreet and vague ways... Possibly I've played through quite a bit of the campaign up to the mission involving Drengi itself but I've not heard of them yet. You're right though maybe they have always been in the background.. Yeh I mean we learn some things about them (well I have so far) such as they're another one of these "righteous" races that are a bit of a paradox in that their fanaticism to be "good" makes them the enemy of the "evil" civs which is annoying because I've grown fond of playing as the Korath. They seem to be good at making money, good as spies and have a good ability to gang up with the other "good" races in sort of crusade like wars against the evil races. In the game Im playing at the moment th

So I got DA last week, absolutely brilliant game I love it! However one thing confuses me who actually are the Krynn? their race info just says they are here "to bring order to galaxy." Ive not played too deeply into the campaign yet so Im not sure if they will appear there but could someone tell me about them? They do creep me out a bit.

Yes they will eventually get hold of logistics technology through invasion because they don't actually research I beleive. You're best bet is to hold the fort and wait for the allies, the altarians defeated them for me (well finished them off).

Yes, some low-spec video cards (those not designed to the DirectX9 specs) will often not render some graphic effects properly (or at all). I thought as much I do need a new graphics card, I think at the moment Im using a Radeon 9800 pro. When I bought the game it wouldn't actually work but downloading that driver made it work. The game runs quit

Ive had this game for ages now since it was first released in the UK and have had hours and hours of fun with it. However one thing that has always annoyed me is that the planets in my games have no dark sides. My system only meets minimum requirements could this be the cause?

In my current game, the Korx and Iconians have become the superpowers (never had this happen.) They have absolutely awesome ships and its only mid game, the korx m4 frigate has 15 missile attack and 20 beam defence which rendered my ships useless. I have scout ships between their 2 empires and frankly their space is filled by battling ships, it looks like the Iconians will win out, but only after years of fighting.

My planets don't even have a dark side, and it won't let me alter the anti-aliasing feature which is weird. Ive tried altering some of the settings but nothing works, i assume its my driver but other games like the Sims 2 work fine.

Hi Ive had the game for a couple of months now, I love it its brilliant, however something wasn't quite right. The other day someone made a post about city lights on the dark sides of colony worlds, now I thought "hmm ive never seen that....hang on Ive never seen a planet that has a dark side!" Is this just because my laptop isn't the best in the world so some of the graphics have been disabled? or am i missing something in the settings options? Its funny i probly never would have noticed this u

To Azrune, well i never watch the Sci fi channel mate, I live in the UK, the only channel Ive ever seen SG1 on is Sky 1, which is a great channel, it has all the crap the US puts on tv and we get it a few weeks later.

Im not sure about MOO3 but I did note one similarity to the apparent plot of Dark Avatar to something I saw. Now if you are familiar with the TV series Stargate SG1 (if you haven't frankly where havee you been!?) anywho there is this race called the Ori, really tech advanced and at the end of the last season they had began a crusade against the Milky way galaxy to convert everyone to their hollow religion. SPOILER WARNING DONT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE THE CAMPAIGN! Dont say I

Beam weapons are my fav, they just look good, and the AI in my experience tends to fav rockets and gun weapons, well in my games anyway

Well for achilles heel. Check out the text introducing the level. Attack them fast, i had this over in a few game months, yiu have lots of starting ships and enough tech to build decent ships to take out a dread lord defenders ship that will probly be guarding the initial dread lord colony. I quickly colonized enough to be in striking range of their world. Built up a fleet of the default "battle axe" ships and threw them at the DLs planet, then quickly invaded and boom! mission finished. Fightin

I like the Altarians, they 're usually the guys that hold the balance of power between the evil and good empires. I hope they don't get wiped out. I hope the end of the next campaign sees the ascendency of the "good" empires. *spoiler* The Arceans and the Altarians were all but wiped out in the origionally campaign, im not sure what happened to the Torians though. The next campaign IMO is going to be a war between the evil nations, perhaps the Yor Drengin alliance vs these new comers

I do see the capital ship argument and they are the better type of ship, they're meant to be the backbone of your advanced fleet. I just don't dismiss fighters my doom ray fighters packed 20 something attack (without military starbas) and were far cheaper than building caps with similar weaponry, a fleet of them would attack and do significant damage to a fleet of caps. For example a battle of 9 of my fighters vs 3 Large hulled Drengin ships with 9 def

What i find is that fighters are popular and great in the early game of tiny, small and medium hulls. When large rolls along and weapons tech advance fighters lose their potency for a while. However with advance weaponry fighters can become deadly. My "doom fighters" were tiny hulls, with an engine and a single doom ray and they kicked ass because i could mass produce them, the drengin capital ships, far more powerful and well defended simply couldn't

Why don't you bribe the yor to attack them? then when the game prompts you to help the minor race say no, that will break the alliance and free you upto attack them.

I got this when the drengin had a final stand against the arceans, neither were allies of mine i was content to let them kill each other. Needless to say it was entertaining watching many tiny drengin ships swarm over arcean battle ships. In fact it bought the drengin enought to time regroup i was very impressed by the AIs ability to do that.

I find that if you have more than one ally, at leat one will declare war against your minor race ally, prompting you to pick a side. Pick the major and wipe out the minor race scum! particularly if they're Paulos! i made the mistake of letting them live to long with my silly notions of compassion, resulted in a bloody fight for their homeworld as they did have battle ships.

I know my friends i tried being fair anf fighting the DLs but they're so hard to beat i did the mission an easier way. The mission is called "achilles heel" what does it mean? If you fight the dread lords they will kick your ass, but at the start they wont. You start with a sizeable bank account and tech to make the small hulled ship with plasma weapons (or very close on normal mode this is) that i can't remember the name of (one the game provides). Build some colony ships, buy them if you must

Try creating an all out galactic war. If any of the other major civs are allies, get the Iconians to attack one of them bringing the whole alliance against them. I did this to bring down the Arceans who were by far the strongest military and were pretty much top in everything else. So they had a sizeable empire, when i set the Torian-Drath-Altarian alliane against them to keep them busy, i launched surgical strikes to open them up. If your Iconian riva

I've encountered them once on a medium map when i was playing as the Iconians. Me and my ally (terrans) had just finished off the drengin after a prolonged and bloody struggle in around drengi. This left our essential trade routes exposed and sure enough the pirates spawned a couple of parsecs away. They wreaked havoc but by the time my fleet was back to the area they were crushed easy enough. Hurt my economy bad though.

I was once playing on a large map and encountered the Scottlingas. Somehow they had survived having a border with the Torians and Altarians whom were busy kicking the Yor's ass (presuming the Yor have asses to be kicked). Anyways i was by far the most advanced empire as i was playing as the Iconians (+50 reseacrh) who i added another 20 research to. So i gave the little blue guys lots of advanced military technology and sent scouts to watch. They star

The Arceans! I thought they were my friends but when i was busy kicking some Torian ass, the b******* attack the flank of my empire. Oh and on the campiagn the dread lords, i think the developers did really well with them, they're so brutal they leave no suriviors when they can help it.
