The Epic Generator!

I'm sorry to bring it up again, but I haven't been able to find a confirmation either way. Is the epic generator definitely kaput? Or is there some hope of it getting released in a patch? If it is officially dead, is it possible to pull off with a mod? I just -really- love the idea of an epic generator, and I'd hate to see it die. -killias2
