I was just wondering if anyone knows how to use the old planetary invasion screen with the little soldiers and everything for ToA? I've played around with the files a little bit and have come close to doing it, but I can't seem to get the soldiers to show up and the game crashes when I actually start the battle. Thanks in advance for any help.

As I stated in the title when I try to start the game, the screen goes black and I have to Ctrl+Alt+Del to get back to the desktop. The wierd part is that the game worked fine on this computer a few weeks ago (the last time I tried to play), and as far as I know nothing on my computer has changed since then. The debug file says what the error is, I just don't know how to fix it, so any help will be greatly appreciated. Here is the debug file: Debug Message: V
calling the media biased isnt the same as saying they.re lying. Just that they skew the facts, yea they are facts, but they present them in a way as to further their own opionion. Lets look at this: in general, the war in Afganistan is not as unpopular as in iraq. in the news they will mention the number of dead enemies in afganistan and down play the number of US casualites. BUT, in Iraq they do the opposite, thy will tell us the moment a US soldier is wound
dude, your country is England, you wouldn't internationally call yourself by your state/city......and yes, you do sound very uppity with your trying to describe geography in England.....believe it or not, England does exist.....just as the USA does exist, the queen of England, not the queen of Yorkshire..... He was describing the geography of Great Britain in a sarcastic way, making fun of those who use the term Great Britain and England i
Gas is a state of matter. There's nothing solid on a gas planet to build a foundation on, unlike an aquatic planet where there's likely solid core deep under the oceans. And a toxic planet's air and atmosphere is poisonous, but it still likely has a solid core. About the uninhabitable planets, I'd guess that some planets simply have no atmosphere and are therefore impossible to colonize. My understanding of a barren world is that it is devoid, lifeless, and lacking som
Why not using the Bentusi as a somewhat powerful and rare anomaly? Once you reach one, it can give you techs you can't have otherwise, lots of RUs, [or just a random speach from an unknown and unimportant prophecy to make you really really angry?] Not a bad idea. I'll definitely consider that if they don't really work out as a race. I would have to request that someone change the anomaly graphic to look like a Bentusi trade ship, as I don't know how to
If you've upgraded it into something else accidentally, then unfortunately it is lost. A side effect of the code that limits you to one per planet is that you can only build one per planet *ever*. If you destroy or build over it, you cannot build another there. It probably shouldn't be that way, but alas, it is. Is that just for DA, because that doesn't happen to me at all when I accidentally raze my starport DL. If I raze or build over it, it just reap
Alright, here is some info on the mod. These are civilizations that will definitely be in the game (this list is by no means final however): Exiles: Leader- Karan S'jet Homeworld- Kharak Ethical Alignment- Good Taiidan Empire: Leader- Riesstiu IV Homeworld- Hiigara Ethical Alignment- Evil Vaygr Reaches: Leader- Makaan Homeworld- Vay Ethical Alignment- Evil Kad
I am seriously considering creating a mod based on Sierra and Relic's wonderful Homeworld series for both DL and DA (the DL version first as I haven't gotten around to buying DA yet ). I already have most of the basic concepts worked out in my head, but there are some things that I could use some help with: 1. How should the Bentusi be worked in? They don't control any planets, yet are
Perfect! Civil War, here I come.
Thanks for the info. One last question: Do you have to be evil for the split to happen? I only ask because I just like to play neutral, but would still like to deal with a civil war.
Basically I just want to know what factors are involved in making your empire split in two. How would one go about intentionally making it more likely that a division would come about? I just want to know because it is something I have seen happen to the AI, but never experienced myself; and it seems like something that would make the game more challenging and fun. I am playing Dread Lords 1.3 if that matters any.
I'm truly sorry, but as much as I love GalCiv II, I simply cannot bring myself to vote for it over Dawn of War.
It would also seem that the description for those disintegration rifles is word for word identical to the description for the Necron Gauss weapons from Warhammer 40k. Just wondering if that was the inspiration for this planetary event
Go into the options menu and turn off antialiasing. That's what fixed it for me.
TAXES!!! If I read one more post about 70% or 80% tax rates I think I’ll puke. That was an obvious exploit or (IMO) a cheat. I have never. I repeat, I have never raised my tax rate above 40%. In fact, my current tax rate is 33%. In reality 70% or 80% tax rates would most likely lead to a revolt or an assassination of leadership and would most certainly not carry a high app
you can delete all the events and leave there only the event you want, then that's what will alwyas ocurr to ya.. But what I wanted was to just increase the chance of them occuring in general, not just a few specific events. But since it is not possible, I guess it's kind of a moot point.
I don't know if this has been asked before or not, but I just want to know if there is a way to increase the chance of a random event ocurring? I have been through all of the .xml files and can't find anything controlling that.
Alright, I'll update as soon as I get the chance and see if that fixes it. One more quick question: Can I use the ships I made in 1.1 with 1.2? I ask because I made some really cool and complex ships (using your mod Kryo) that I would have a tough time reproducing if I had to make them again.
Okay, I'll get on that. In the mean time, is there any thing in the debug that you notice that might require more than just updating the game?
Someone please help. My game keeps crashing at the same date (March 8 2228) every time I play and I have no idea why. I am runnig version 1.1 and here is my debug.err file: Debug Message: Version v1.1 last updated on: Mon Apr 24 19:03:49 2006 Debug Message: Could not find a TGN Serial No. Debug Message: *********DXDiag info follows.********* System Info Time: 8/13/2006, 21:26:02 DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) Machine Name: YOUR-B27FB1C401 O
