I have run into a bug with ship building. I am using V 1.11 and when I select Build Ship for a ship yard that is already building a ship. If that ship is partly complete and I decide once there to stay with the same ship and select it, the build time goes back to what it is when you initially start the build and forgets that you have already built part of it.

I don't remember a specific recommendation but generally speaking, bigger is better with the only real disadvantage being that it uses some disk space. If you have the available disk space, set it for 2048 (2GB) and you should be fine.
Most reviews agree that there is little reason to buy AM2 at this point. The performance difference is 5% or less. If you really need to upgrade now, save some money and buy 939 especially if your next upgrade will include a MB change.
it never showed up over one little dot on the graph meaning few people are having problems I am somewhere between you two but if you really read the forums, there are far more that a dot on the graph that are having problems. Its not as bad as many make it out to be but lets be realistic, there are too many posts that say otherwise. I had pre
There is a specific module that you have to put on a ship to give it the ability to survey and therefore explore anomalies. In a normal game, your flagship, which is given to you from the start, has survey capabilities eventhough you do not have the requisite technology to build one yourself yet. Once you have the requisite tech, you can build a survey vessel yourself. There is also a building you can build later that will give all of your ships the ability to survey at no additiona
I think the best things you can do are: 1 - Buy the game and any expansion packs you use, don't pirate them or help anyone else do it 2 - Give honest and fair commentary about the game on this site and any other where you discuss it 3 - Ask for any future products by name from your preferred place of purchase 4 - Read reviews on it and give good feedback on the reviews that are fair and unbiased and bad on the others 5 - Anytime you see a poll anywhere about GC2, w
yea, the smac was a good game on the voting part, even with the others wanting to arm nukes, then condim you yfor doing the same or using one Not trying to be a jerk, but I have no idea what you are trying to say.
I think the EULA actually says only one computer but it has been stated here numerous times about installing on multiple computers and no one from Startdock has said anything about it. I think that you are OK as long as you don't install it on your friend's computer for him to play. The only concern I think you might have is when you are playing at the same time as someone else in the family on the second computer. They probably will say its OK to have multiple installations as long as only o
Starbases should be, once very large, a fortress that requires a great deal of planning to take down. You should always feel slightly intimidated when attacking something that takes 2-3 years to build with a ship that took 2-3 weeks to build This is one I definitely agree with. Starbases should be ominous structures that it takes planning and
I generally don't care much for tactical combat but I do not like some of the choices the AI/computer make on which ships to fire on which. I think it woul be nice to give you a few options prior to combat such as which ships to concentrate on first or other preset options. Once you pick them, the combat occurs similar to the way it currently works.
Heres what I would like to see: - Anyone can ask for a vote at any time and whether it happens would be based on a majority vote. The Arceans has requested a UP meeting to vote on a tax on cultures at war, do you agree? - Before a regularly scheduled meeting, several subjects need to be put on the table and one of them selected to vote on. Possible subjects for meeting: 1 - Setting limits on Starbases not in your area 2 - Setting limi
There should not be an issue with a 9800 AIW card and capability to run GC2. I am using a GeForce 4200 without problems. It is more likely that you are having problems with video drivers (dated this year is best), amount of RAM (512 is basically a minimum), or swapfile size (make it 1024 or higher if disk space is not an issue).
If you're trying to get out of this cheaply and still have a decent system to play, buy the original Xbox or a PS2. Play it for a while and then you can decide if going to the next level is what you want. Each system has its advantages and disadvantages but the best thing to do is look at the games to see which system will play the ones you want. Xbox live is a very nice way to go if you want a subscription service that allows you to play online against others. If you are one that just has t
Muniun, yes ram will help him alot, but you are missing the more improtant problem. His GPU is from teh stone ages (yea pretty much). Even if he gets 4x the amount of ram that he has now, i Highly doubt if he can play the game with his current GPU. And if he does manage to get it to run, it will either 1.Have graphical glitches 2.Crash all the time 3.Wont run
Assuming the Earth model stayed the same size, the Sun is still far too small. Thought this might be interesting. If drawn to scale on the 2D view in GC2, the sun would be almost 12,000 times the size of the earth in terms of circle area. If you had a empty bowl the size of the sun, it would take more than 1 million earths to fill it. Hard t
Or god forbid you come out of your little realm of denial concerning real Multiplayer. It sure looks to me like the little realm of denial is 1/3 full of people like you. The facts are against you on this one. Two thirds of the people did not want multiplayer. I am most definitely one of them.
There is a program or mode under XP that allows you to tell it what OS a program prefers and it will attempt to mimic that OS. I just can't remember its name or how to do it. I have used it on previous games that only ran well on Win95 and it worked.
man precursor10, show some respect, be glad they are even releasing updates. I don't see anything disrespectful in what precursor10 said.
The attack advantage is a good idea. I miss it. The attacker, especially in a surprise situation, should always have the advantage. I have seen this stated many times over on the forums but I cannot completely agree. Conventional military wisdom is that the attacker needs a 2-1 numerical advantage due to the advantages of the defender.
I was refering rather to "upgrades", such as pertaining to enhanced features. I would say that what you call enhanced features, others call required fixes that might should have been there to begin with. While I am happy I purchased the game, I feel too many people attribute working long hours to accomplishing something. I by no means am sayi
Seriously, Stardock has now stated that the 8.95 option will probably be rolled into the next full expansion so they can concentrate on that . I hope they are smarter than that. Almost half have stated they were not willing to pay for it so why add it to the next exapansion pack and increase the cost of it?
This is the kind of thing that ruins forums. Some people are new and don't speak English that well. Your asinine remark about his post says more about you than any of his writings every would. Once in a while, get your lazy butt out of cyberspace and learn how to relate to the rest of us please. And don't pollute "our" forum with your negativity. Madcat19 , you name tells
Looks like a memory assertion (possible code bug) and kindof looks like the message is indicating a memory leak. I would send a game save file and debug.err to the email address as listed in several threads but I can't seem to remember right now. Dang it, thats the second thing to go, I just can't remember what the first was.
Either but you could start with the first and last page.
I have been having problems off and on with this as well. At least one day this week, they were working on the servers. In other cases, I just think the traffic load is more than the servers can handle.
