Hey, I hope you are making thumbnails for these...
Dread Pirate Scott
I woulkdn't mind the abilityto Pick which ship the camera is follwing in certain camera modes in the combat viewer. Another thing: I would like to see some varierty an AI alignment. I'm tired of the Drath alway being good, the Kork always being evil, etc. I've tried to Mod this my self but I don't know enough XML to make an "OR" inside the element. I hope the Devs read this thread.
Um.. anyone?
I know what you did. I have done this too. You probably modded the XML, and placed a file containing All the Techs, planetimprove, whatever, in the mods folder. The game now reads Both the XML in mods\data\whatever folder and the galciv2\data\english. Now, if you're Adding something completely new, all you need is a short XML file with your additions. However, if you want to Tweak or change something already there you need to put thew WHOLE file in your mods directory, and back up the original a
Well, they;ve mentioned that they're reverting to GalCiv1 style combat, whatver that means.
In order to add more variety to the game, I am trying factor in a an amouint of randomness in AI players Ethics's and Morality. I know there is line in the RaceConfig.XML file for it, but I do not know of a way to enter multiple values and have the AI use more than the first one. Is what I'm trying to do even possible?
Thanks! I added a custom minor race, but its kinda hard tell if it worked, as there is no way to pick what Minor races you get...
Oh really? Cool! What do you use to open the str file?
Heres something that I've been doing for a while. You can Rename any ship, planet, or starbase, even if it is controled by another player. I use this for marking starships or starbases I want to buy to be easily findable in the diplomacy window.
I have looked Everywhere. It seems minor races are listed nowhere in the any of the XML files. It seems not only can you not Add them, but you cannot modify the exisiting ones, the name of thier star systems, or even thier description in the foreign advisor's screen! That is, of course, if I'm not missing something blanbantly obvious.
Oh, ditto. This is something I'd love to do. I was actually coming ehre to ask the exact same question. On another not concerning Minor races, I was wondering if anyone had found a way to make them able to trade ships in diplomacy? I guess I'll go burrow into XML land to find out...
