So long as the AI stops building 3 starports on Class 4 planets, it shouldn't be a problem. Yet still, I'd prefer to demolish them on said low-class planets, because they'd take half a year to get one decent ship out. I find that it's better to spend a bit of money on a farm and two research facilities.

I don't think it's hard-coded as I don't get this debug.err message at all all those dealing with "my documents" points to the correct path inside "document & settings" my guess is that : somehow there must be a reference to this path somewhere hidden in your windows registry or ini files <br

GC2 and CivIV are the first games that have ever forced me to upgrade my video driver, but there have been a few that required me to go back to an older version. The way things are going these days, you almost need a massive hard drive with multiple installations of Windows so you can have the "right" driv

Yes, I know, spam of updates. As it turns out, it was a little premature to say the bug is still present in Beta 4A. It may not be. Unfortunately, as it takes 10 minutes to load my game each time, I do not presently have the time to run a few more tests. What I do know is that the ships that were not displaying all of their components for my ongoing save are still not displaying them. However, all new custom ships and those that were showing all t

As a brief update, it is still an issue as of Beta 4A. Also, having taken a close look at the debug.err, I don't see anything that would likely be an issue. I should note that I run the game with the "cheat" parameter so I can keep an eye on the frame-rate. I also quit before reloading the game (so I could provide those two screenshots) to free up the Windows swap file. Also, it appears that "C:\My Documents" is hard-coded somew

I've had similar issues with the most recent beta (1.1b4). I'll have a few planets defect to my empire and, despite having two or three industrial centers with a social focus, they only have like 6 or 7 social points and a population of 11 billion. Compared to the two or three industrial centers on my other smaller planets (population 5b), which have social focus and around 30 social points. It's rather odd. Unfortunately, it doesn't alwa

There is a slight difference. Advanced Farming costs about 20X more. You can build an intensive farming for 72bc or let it build over a week. I think the advanced is somewhere in the thousands, and takes months to build. For what? Nothing. That is rather irritating, yes. I loved getting intensive farming. Suddenly, I could afford to increase the population capacity on all of my tiny planets. Then I got advanced farming and it all wen

My regional settings have always been United States (English) with the decimal symbol set to the decimal point/period I just loaded my game again and all of the custom ships that were displaying properly last time are displaying just the hull now. All of those that were just the hull are now displaying properly. I find it peculiar that it

While I could have sworn I had read the bug was fixed, I can no longer find any message suggesting it, so I am posting it in case nobody else has encountered this bug. Since I upgraded to Beta 3, then 3A, and now 4, there has been an issue with custom ship designs. Upon reload, all components--functional or otherwise--are no longer present in appearance. While the engine speed, defense ratings, attack ratings, etc. are all intact, you cann

I don't believe it's supposed to automatically obsolete the previous version of a vessel. If it did, you would no longer be able to construct that older design, which, for me at least, is a very common occurrance. Most of the time, I'm either creating a ship that looks like one of my other designs or I am creating a ship that will be used side-by-side with the current ship design. I rarely obsolete any of my ship designs, because you never
