I am restating the obvious here, but for some new metaverse players, it is probably fresh info. I have played this game as heavily as any other that I have owned, and the idea of the Metaverse certainly gave it a second wind in my book. One way to keep it dynamic is to change the scoring from the "offical" metaverse version over to Kryo's alt-meta version. People who figured out how to maximize a game score based on the a formula have no reason to post new games on the official metave

Great! I just checked my saved link for it and everything is showing up as normal, thank you for the info (and the program).
Something weird has happened when I try to look at the Altmeta score site. I currently don't see any of the top rated empires or players, just what appears to be the most recent ones (last 2-3 weeks). Can other people access the scoring site normally? Space Orcas, Diplomats and others are no longer listed, so it's not a function of the decaying scores, they just vanished.
I remember the pride I felt in arming and shielding an economic resource starbase to the max level for "Starbase Fortifications III", including some +16 or +17 shields & armor for researching various advanced starship individual defenses. With the bonuses from the military resource I had, all three defense numbers were over 50 (one was in the high 60's), with correspondingly high numbers in armanents. "This sucker is tougher than the Bismark", I thought, right until the first 12 ship fleet cru
I have played 30 to 40 games of GalCiv2 at different Galxy sizes (normally large down to Tiny) and have never tried for a Tech victory before. In my current game I decided it was time to go for it, and I can say it is the hardest I have had to work for a victory. I'll probably end up winning an Influence victory prior to completing the last research necessary, because the Drengin went off the hook and started attacking the remainig races. Realizing that I was the next probable victom, I attack
Lord Pinko, the best place to get help is through Stardock's tech support. They will have more experience in dealing with character creation issues than the people posting in this section of the forum. The link below is a good place to start. Support and Bugs Alex A., I just scanned the member ranks of the three empires ahead of the High Command Hedgemony and found that many of their top players haven't posted new scores s
Greetings Alex A. I joined your empire simply because you seemed very enthusiastic about promoting it. I've only just started posting games to the Metaverse, but I enjoy GalCiv2 alot, and I play it regularly, so I'll be contributing some points to the empire (my character in the Metaverse is "Saladin"). Keep up your positive attitude and The High Command will reach #1 eventually.
Someone mentioned in another thread, that adjusting the Hit Points of the starbases upwards would give them a fighting chance against an attacking "super" fleet. I think that allowing a constructor to add 10-20 hit points instead of a module might be a good compromise. Investing 5 constructors to add an average of 75 HP's to bring the station over 100 Hp's would give a Starbase a chance against a "super fleet". It would be able to take enough damage to fight multiple rounds and possibly wreck
I don't know if I would call a fully armed and shielded Starbase "frail". As annoying as having to send constructor after constructor to build up a starbase might be, it does force the player to balance whether he will build fleets for combat or build starbases to augment his empire. Thats the kind of strategic decision one should expect to have to make in a game like this. Guns or butter. <br
