Just looked over your scorecard, Evil. How could you log 6 gigantic map games in one weekend? Large takes me a month. I know Mumble plays gigantic maps and has reported as long as 8 weeks. Do you need/want help with strategy? We are about having fun. I don't mind you posting losses. I'm just concerned that you might not be having fun.

The Core would welcome the EoS and give you your own private forum of which you would be the moderator. All we would ask in return is a modicum of civility. No problem. I won't live up to my #2 ranking as the most annoying person in GC2. Why wasn't I #1?

GW is right. As long as you're having fun, post what you want. Glad to see that losses don't affect moving up in rank. Peter principle at its finest. I like that purple heart. I might have to post 5 losses of my own to get one.

I just want folks to realize that when I say that the Core is willing to host the private forums of any and all GalCiv2 empires, I do mean *any* and *all*. Say it, Mumble: "Even the Empire of Standards." I'll try to stop by in the morning.

DivineWrath, Maybe I went a little too far on mocking your Socrates project. Socratic dialectics can be devastating against people if you learn to use them with subtlety. I think Socrates was far more sophisticated than portrayed in the dialectics. Besides having been written over 2500 years ago and translated from an ancient dialect of Greek, I believe Plato wrote them for people not quite as intelligent as himself or Socrates. The dialectics are a teaching tool. You can d

You can remain undecided, by not researching "Xeno ethics", throughout the entire game, and possibly be stronger for it. In complete sincerity, you can't. In the late stages of the game, it helps to have Xeno Ethics. It's best if you're the first one to get it. With military superiority and Xeno Ethics you can force all your opponents to choose by gifting the tech. That makes the political situation clearer so everyone can die with greater efficiency

Looks like Obvious Guy has come to save the day. Thanks, DivineWrath! // end sarcasm There is no fourth alignment and there sure isn't a "forth" alignment. You are either good, evil or neutral, period. If you make neutral decisions during random events, you have made... wait for it... a NEUTRAL decision. That qualifies as a _choice_. Maybe you never took Philosophy 101. The only choice you don't make is not making a choice. There's no such thing as undecided.

Your right, it didn't. Should i be happy that you are going to be less of a annoyance to me because i wasn't born in America? You're pathetic, neilo. Quit making excuses for being a tard and just try a little harder.

So if I want to be a war monger, I should probably skip the diplomacy techs and what not - and build on fleet size, and weapons. TS Elliott once wrote, "there's no greater treason than the right deed for the wrong reason." If you plan on doling out cans of whoopass, you absolutely need a higher diplomacy rating than your future genocide victims. Diplomacy will buy you time when the enemy suspects you're about to launch an offensive. If d

Lower taxes to 30%. Build labs and factories. Build up diplomatic and trade skills. Open a few trade routes. Don't worry about war happening too early on normal... though that could have changed on DA but I doubt it. Use your normal game to do the right thing before building any war machine. Learn diplomacy, trade and research. Learn to design ships as you explore weapons and defenses. When you win at normal, you'll want to play a higher difficulty. Your third game will probably be your

Silk panties? That just proves that on the internet... The men are men. The women are men. And the children are FBI agents.

The problem here started with the apostrophe. It doesn't take much skill in English or general effort to figure out that an apostrophe indicates POSSESSION not PLURAL. "Non-native" is no excuse. I'm not waltzing into Romanian forums with questions that are simply stupid at face value and then compounded with purposeful illiteracy. The non-native speakers have a little more leeway but they are still targets as far as I'm concerned. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles

Is it ironic when someone corrects someone else on the use of the word irony when that someone else is actually using irony correctly, and the corrector is himself incorrect? LOL!

35 Replies 18,261 Views

Someone needs to look up "irony" in the dictionary. How? Exactly what would you call it? Satire? Are you really that stupid? Go tattoo "FRAKTARD" to your forehead. I'll pay for it.

Personally offensive? No way! How could that be? There's nothing better than wrasslin'. It's the people that don't understand the cheesy, over-the-top nature of "professional" wrestling who get upset with me. I could really care less if necessary. It's amusing to watch people get their panties in a bunch from my alleged lack of courtesy.

Should your answer be my latter explanation, do you then care about metaverse rank, for both empire and individual? Or is it all about the game and the fun and thus you're posting to the metaverse because...??? In my view, posting to the Metaverse at least once is important for proving to your peers that you can play the game fair and square. I know Evil S gets really annoyed when anybody suggests that posting a Meta score indicates skill. That's under

That's irony. You're wrong. Irony is Anna Nicole Smith fighting tooth and nail to steal money from a corpse only to become a corpse herself shortly after winning. That's irony.

A question about Spy's Learn to use the apostrophe and more complicated subjects like "use of spies" may come easier. I'd never call you an "ignorant frak", "illiterate tard" or a "filthy fraktard" because I'm above such things.

10-4 on the beauty sleep. Letting this game violate such a fundamental principle would be going against the fabric of our empire. Mumble and his cohorts in the Galactic Diplomats are... OCD. If you're found attempting to overwhelm computer opponents with 5000 ships per sector, I'd have to question why you'd want to be in EoS. If you play the game straight up, I don't care if you log a l

I prefer tiny and small maps. Brad said somewhere that the game is optimized for medium maps. I played large because it was set for random and I wanted to play it anyway for experience's sake. With 3 victory types behind me and the fact that this empire isn't about scoring or even logging games (log one and you're Standard for life:) ), I personally discourage large maps. Everybody has to work for a living. If you can play to put 5000 ships in a sector, it's time to find something e
