And the answer is.......... Larger ships have more mass. According to Newtons second law: The relationship between an object's mass (m), its acceleration (a), and the applied force (F) is F = ma. Engines produce the force (F). If acceleration is constant at one G then more force (engine push) is required for the ship with the greater mass.
