Thanks for the tip, heegz, but I had already turned it off. It seems that the game runs fine as long as I don't look at any of the rotating 3D ships, whether it be in the civ customization screen or on a starport or wherever. I've disabled every graphic option available. Thanks for the help!

I have not been able to make it past the galaxy customization section of the game without it hardlocking my system and requiring a reboot. Any help would be much appriciated!
