Hi there, I am again having problems trying to play this game and was wondering if anyone could help me. I recently upgraded my computer, and as a result had to re-install Galciv2. I can play the original non-updated game, however as soon as I update the game I get the following message when i try to launch the game: 'The product appears to be validated but the serial number or the machine SID don't match.' What is the machine SID and can anyone offer a solution? Many thanks.
ok the whole serial number thing has me a bit confused....as I used the number on the back of my manual and it worked when I first installed the game. I own a UK copy, bought it in HMV. activation was no problem teh first time round, so not sure whats happened this time round. Could it be because I have installed it on a new machine? Although I don't know why that would cause a problem as I am using the same account details. If I uninstall and re install do u think that might help? ag
Thanks for the help guys however Im still unable to activate my product. Its not an internet connection problem as far as im aware. When i try to launch the game I get the stardock product activation window in which i have to supply my email and serial number. I enter both corectly, then when i press 'activate' I get a message saying 'Error activating the product'. And thats all I get. I tried finding the sig.bin file and deleting it as Yarlen suggested but I can't find that file probably cuz
Hi there im back again with another problem! hopefully someone can help me out but I seem to be having problems activating my product after updating GC2 to the latest version. THis means I can't even launch the game Not sure if I did anything wrong, probably did, but any help would be greatly appreciated
Hi there Yarlan, Thanks loads for your help! I followed the link you gave me and was able to register and upgrade Gal Civ to V1.0x.1. I'm quite new at all of this so I'll probably be posting questions on here again before I know it! however do you experience frequent crashing with this game? Hi there, I was wondering if anyone could help me out as I have been having some serious problems actually trying to register this game! I bought a retail version of this game and so had to create a stardock account and download startdock central. I've done all of that, but now when I try and register Gal CIv2 via stardock Central I get a message saying my account information has expired! So I thought ok no problem, I'll just click the option to renew
