In a recent game the one ultimate AI (Drath) did not use tech trading really. They had a huge research advantage in comparison to all opponents and could have won easily, if they had traded techs and if they did not go for ship tech only. They just gave me the time I needed. I do not remember something like that before on higher levels. It has been a while, that I played DL. Is that a usual behaviour for Draths, playing DL patch 1.4?

Hello, I just wondered about some points, which have been posted several times. Somtimes the AI has a hard time. Why? Because the human player has more options: 1. The human player may cancel an alliance. The AI may not (At least I did not see it happen). 2. The AI uses speed now much better. But still the human player makes more use of it. 3. I also have the same experience with all 4X games. The only solution (in my view) was already mentioned in a journal on the 18th of April: "AI (all players and not just the Drath) have the capability of paying others off to go to war with others and now it will tell you if they've been paid off (before they'd just go to war and you might not know why). AI (all players) is aware of conquerors and will take steps to try to thwart them by acting together." I did not play 1.2 b

Here are my proposals. They are not all easy tweaks, but they should all improve the gameplay. 1. Option: Choose max number of drives per ship from 1 to 3. 3 should be total max for balancing reasons. 2. Option to limit sensors per ship to 1 or max 2. 3. I agree with Sorael: The AI will be much better in a few weeks. I loved the AI’ s strength in GC1.It has to be realized that GC2 is quite a challenge for the AI, because of additional features (logistics, unique ship design, fleet management, planet specialization, special bonuses and so on). I think it should work easier, than I desribed before: 1. Change regional settings to english AND use numeric format 1,000.00 2. Install 1.0X via SDC 3. Delete/Rename the directories c:\Dokumente und Einstellungen\user\Eigene Dateien\My Games\GalCiv2 and the galciv2\data\german If it does not work, I cannot help. I installed the original version only and did not use additional collectors edition files.

This is what I did this afternoon: 1. Copy Data English to German 2. Install 1.0X via SDC 3. Copy Data English to German again 4. Change regional settings to english or use german with numeric format as 1,000.00 (I tried both) So, now I can hear the english sound for the intro. After the intro the game crashes.
