Is anyone else having 'odd' diplomatic contacts. Odd meaning, Dread Lords or Peacekeepers asking for help because they've been getting their collective backsides wiped by one of the AI's. Had the Peacekeeper mega happen, I wasn't in a position to have them attack me, but the Korx attracted most of the Peacekeepers attention and, after 25 turns or so, they started initiating contact in the diplomacy screen with the 'We're being ground into dogmeat by the Korx, can you help us' line

I had the same crash as the original poster. I've already e-mailed the smart exception report and my debug.err to the support email address from smart exception. I haven't started another session since the crash happened and can send the last save game file if it would help (crashed only one or two turns after loading from saved game)

I've never had what you could call the 'latest and greatest' as far as hardware goes. My machine was/is the last one I put together about 3 years ago. Granted, it was as close as I've come to being on the front edge of the envelope, and as such, is still a very usable machine. The only real upgrades I've made in the last year are starting to use the SATA interface and controller (dual 250GB in a mirror), and upgrading the video card two or three generations. To be honest, I didn't really hav

I did not too long after posting this. Haven't had a chance to play an extended session to see what happens now. That was an endstage game with 6 or 7 well developed AI races still in the game. Lots and lots of ships floating around.

Had an out of memory error on an autosave attempt and then a couple of manual attempts to save the game I was playing. Granted, it was late in the game (gigantic, 9 opponents, abundant) and the Terrans got a tech victory on me about 30 turns later, but it was kind of annoying. It didn't crash the game, so I managed to grab the debug file right after trying to manually save the game for the second time. I know the drivers are old. I had to reload everything after a HD failure and haven't gott

Not really sure if this is a bug or not. I'm watching fleet to fleet combats in the viewer and I keep seeing ships on both sides appear to fire on their own fleet. I can't tell if this a way to illustrate the relative experience levels of the various ships (green crews have problems with target selection and the skill improves with more exposure to combat), or it's a flaw in the combat viewer. I hadn't noticed it before and maybe it's another issue with the .068 patch.

I copped a 42PQ once, when I invaded the Dread Lords homeworld. Bonus value for having 40 of those lovely industrial sectors when I wasn't quite that far advanced. Shortened the whole game up. I was planning a war with the Korath and we were very evenly matched until that happened.

Haven't scoured the forums to see if anyone else has submitted this before, but I'm getting the skull and crossbones normally associated with unhappy campers about to change allegiance on resource mining starbases and unoccupied resources. There may be more than one (I've had as many as four), and they appear and disappear as I zoom in and out. It's more of an annoyance than a real problem at this point. I have the latest beta version.

Hadn't gotten it posted yet, but I've taken over planets (invasions and surrendered by other races) and had two power plants(fusion, antimatter, ...) already on them.

I had just created a new lg hull ship design, assigned a planet to build it, and clicked on the turn button. Screen went blank and then went to the report problem to MS screen. I have saved and come back to this game several times with no problems. Thanks for the help. My 'high speed' connection still only managed about 45-50 kbs(took about 3 & 1/2 hours to download the DA beta) but it sure beat the snot out of the 2.5 kbs I have at home(multiply that time by a factor of about 20 and think about it). Once I figured out where to start the archive from, I had no trouble at all. Got it home, loaded and extracted with no problems. Started a DA game using gigantic, abundant everything, very fast tech, as the Terrans vs. the classic 5 at the

I, unfortunately, live on the edge of nowhere, not serviced by any landline based high speed connections and find the prospect of satellite based high speed access financially frightening. I really don't want to tie up my phone line for (insert time interval - hours, days, weeks, ...) downloading. If I'm really lucky, I might get something better than 28.8, weather permitting. Is there a way for me to download to another machine and then transfer using a cd burner or flashdrive.
