Okay, never mind my above post. I got it downloaded (finally!). Anyhoo, another problem presents itself. I did the whole "revert to default mods folder, restart, go back to high res, restart again" thing like it says in the readme, but when i started my first game (as drengin) all planets in my starting system are bleached except Drengi. All the planets in my home system except my homeworld are just white spheres floating in space. This seems to be the case for all the major races'

I usually start off with an abbreviated version of the empire's name (ie: Krynn Consulate=KC, Drath Legion=DL), and then an abbreviation of the ship's class: Cargo colony-Cc constructor-Ct freighter-Fr miner-M transport-Tt sensor (cargo)-Ss Tiny scout-S fighter-F Small corvette-Cv h
From the screens I've seen of the mod, it looks amazing, Logic. However, the mod is so large I'm having a hard time downloading it. It gets up between 96-99% and then the download times out. Yeesh. Any help would be appreciated.
Yeah PubMaster, those ships rock! I love the geometry on the engines-very unique! Anyway, I'm new to the whole image hosting thing (took me around 20+ minutes to get that www link working in my above post ), and I was wondering how to get full size pics into a thread instead of making a link or using tiny thumbs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I knew I knew that logo! Amazing, Logic. Oh, and Kenwebb, I envy your artistic talent. I majored in art and I can't do things half that good. Keep it up! I've been tinkering with the ship designer for the last 15 minutes or so and came up with this piece of junk . It's the Kol'tiraad class...something. Haven't quite worked that out yet. In case you were wondering, I made a
Logic, isn't the logo for the Brunai Imperium an edited Vasudan logo from Freespace? Cause I know I've seen that before, though not with that particular color scheme...
ok, thanks again.
Thank you, Kryo. That explains a lot. Another quick question: After you assign your custom race the modified style, is there any way to use previously created ships/templates in that style instead of crafting all new ones? (I ask this because I have around 45 or so detailed ships that would be a major pain to recreate.)
This morning I finally finished all the different ships needed to make a custom ship style for my custom race (I use drengin hulls). But I find that I can't create a custom style for my race, the box is still grayed out. So I try to make a custom opponent, and lo and behold the box isn't grayed out. I make my style and save it. When I try to use that style that I saved on my custom race again, it shows up as the default drengin hull, even though it is my custom style. It works fine for oppone
I got the day off school today here in Ohio! Wind chills at -33. Nice.
thanks for the info. i've been saving up for a much better cpu--just really haven't got around to it yet. Between playing three sports a year and two instruments gaming is just something i do when i'm bored now. Anyhoo, thanks again all
Ok sorry about the 24 hour delay (i got two a day practice and school ) so here's my debug.err. Oh, and i do run intensive algorithms-i didnt know that it made a difference. Debug Message: Version v1.31 last updated on: Wed Sep 13 18:41:18 2006 Debug Message: GalCiv2 is activated. Debug Message: Checking DX Version. Debug Message: *********DXDiag info follows.********* S
I got this game around 2 months ago, and am running 1.31. I never used to run into this problem (b/c I actually prefer small to large maps and very slow tech tree) usually won by alliance or influence very early on. However, this became increasingly hard to do with 1.31 so i tried my hand at a large map. Whenever more than 3 or 4 ships were on the screen the frame rate dropped drastically-under 20 fps. I have turned off everything possible in the video options and am running lowest resolution
