As for the AI at beginner level. I've played on the exact same setting before in the BETA!!!! They were never that slow. I had a military and all sorts of crazy **** and they each had TWO planets. I wasn't even able to light a candle in normal. I don't know anything about the AI. It might not be a bug. But an AI that moves that slow. A preschooler randomly clicking could beat them, and that difficulty is like, two or three up from the bottom.

I couldn't play the non beta version due to the damned trade bug crash. I was trying to avoid the bedamned beta. What was I supposed to do about that? Save every round and keep all my planets garrisoned to shoot down any and all rogue game crashing freighters? I had more than one game that literally couldn't go forward b/c the AI decided to start trading with me before I had a military in place that could've possibly stopped them. I couldn't embargo th

I played a recent game in which the AI elected not to expand except to the planet within its own system. All of the computer players did this, not just one. They all had only two planets, and I had around 10-15 and more on the way. This behavior seems to have stuck in my games and I can't figure out why the AI is doing that. It was on beginner difficulty, and I've played beginner level games before. They don't take that long to colonize. Nowhere near.

In a recent game, the trading bug that causes the game to crash forced me to restart. Normal bug, so I figured, no big deal, I'll just embargo them. It seems the embargo button only works if you're actually trading with the player. At the time, the player had no trade routes with me. Couldn't it be set up to be pre-emptive as well? I ended up having to buy a starport, a ship, and go to war just to continue my game.
