What did I miss in v1.2 about the manufacturing and industrial sectors???
Sutternalt
I really liked both, but then after two shows into Atlantis, I got really busy. So now I just read the scripts on TwizTV when I have a chance. Kind of annoying, because whenever I do get to see a show, I have NO idea what the characters look like. Now that that tangent is over with, That is an awesome ship. I wish I knew how to make one like that.
I'd be happy to create a few maps, if only I could figure out how to upload anything. And the Pegasus replicators are basically like First-Fifth (the human replicators).
Interesting idea... I probably shouldn't post a two word post, but oh well.
Of course, it's the getting the technologies part that's annoying and hard...
Sweet! ~~~~~~ I was gonna do a whole line of SG ships made with the ship editor in GalCivII, but then I got stuck on the Goa'uld mothership. How are you supposed to make a pyramid in that editor?!?!? Then I tried uploading the models, except I couldn't figure out how... Other than that, I'd be happy to help.
Oh well, I guess I kinda enjoy picking my own tunes through windows media player. ...Try playing the super mario song!!!! It brightens up any game.
I like how we have 41 posts on the subject of a simple 'boop', 'chiga-eeee', or even 'fluuussshhh'. It just shows you how active and strongly-minded the community is on this game.
I like the idea. You know what else I would like? I'd like to hear the old GalCiv 1 "chiga-eeee" noise when you click menu. Or is that only my bad computer failing to make that simple "chiga-eeee", even though at least 20 spyware programs can be running at a given moment without shutting each other down or even affecting the approx. 400,338 viruses on my computer at any given time. At least my computer makes vaguely electronicly, synthesyzed whirs whenever it freezes. In
Sometimes, if I'm powerful enough, I let the DL's capture one of my planets, wait a few turns, and then capture it back to have an uber powerfully improved planet. Kinda a risky strategy though...
Speaking of disbanding colonies, how do you disband a colony?
The only money bug I ever experienced was on the trade screen. I was trading with the Altarians, about 3000 influence points and 200-ish bc for universal translator. What ended up happining was it gave them 3000 bc and 200-ish influence points for universal translator. I reinstalled the game, and haven't experienced any money bugs since.
If I had a dollar for every time I wanted a terror star... Speaking of which, if we do get terror stars back, then will it destroy the star and make the planets unuseable, make the star go nova and melt the planets, or merely destroy the planets themselves and let the star go shining merrily on? Or, maybe there could be three classes of terror stars, each related to a weapon type, that destroys worlds differently. Who knows?
I would've voted twice, if I could've. One vote for Multiplayer. Honestly, who hasen't wanted to see what people (as in: not AI) would do in certain situations? Like if someone played Thalan and started in a remote corner? Not saying that the AI is bad, or anything. The other vote would be for more sophisticated ship design; namely the ability to place hardpoints yourself. I'm sure a ton of people would appreciate that. ...Although tact
GAAAH!!!! BAD GRAMMAR(sp?)!!!!! IT BURNS!!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thanks for the trading tip, Noumenon72. Class 4 planets like Mars shouldn't be the first one to be colonized unless you can't find anything better within a reasonable distance. You always get one in your starting solar system anyway, so you can colonize it at any time (unless the Arcean-Locusts strike). When you do colonize planets like Mars, just fill them up with factories and
Yeah, really. ~bump~
They don't have different parties? I never noticed that. I love Draginol's idea.
Isn't pressing the enter/return key the same thing as clicking turn?
Not me, but that's a nice ship design.
^ That's a major error!!!! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I've tried toggling the music, that didn't work. I never alt-tabbed. I tried exiting, re-starting my computer, and then starting a new game, that didn't work either. Although after about 20 turns the music randomly came on in one game. In other games, the music will come on after building a starbase or declaring war, so maybe it has something to do with events? Or, maybe it's not being triggered unti
Just wondering, but what tech gives you mini-soldiers?
The Altarians? Interesting. Maybe the difficulty level has something to do with it.
Ah, the good ole days of Gal Civ I.... I usually build only factories and research labs on all of my planets. I then research trade and a bunch of range techs, build up a fleet of tradeships, and then send them all off to the farthest planets in their range. ...Of course, I usually end up in debt, so whatever works for you is probably better.
When I play GalCiv 2, there is music on the startup screen, music when I discover something, but sometimes there isn't any music in game (when you can move your ships and such). Usually, it can be cured by restarting the game. But sometimes it gets really annoying! Any ideas how to fix this?
Just for the heck of it, I played on beginner on a medium sized map. I run in to the Arceans, and they only had two planets! After building up some intelligence, I saw that they were furiously building colony ships, but not sending any of them out to colonize!!!! What the heck?!? ...Oh, yeah, I've noticed how the Arceans are like locusts, too. But the Iconians and the Thalans are the ones like shy puppies and don't colonize.
