Must be the most awesome trailer I've ever seen. Check out [link="http://community.dawnofwar2.com/ "]WWW Link[/link] if you wanna learn more. Oh and about the Beta, one of Relic's staff posted on the forums that their promise about the Beta for Soulstorm-buyers is still valid. So looking forward to this game.

Just look around the forum, especially in the strategy-section there are so many threads dedicated to the economy issue. What I do, and that works pretty much for every civ (even for the Yor, in this case you have to try and obtain eco-techs via tech-trading early on) is to focus my research on economy, morale, population growth, research and (for civs like the Terrans) diplomacy. Plus, I spam as many colony ships as possible. I don't recommend neglecting your colony expansion just bec

Sorry, I wasn't aware of the update. Everything's fine, I'm getting my ass handed over to me by the painful AI.

I am experiencing this issue, too. Difficulty is set to painful, the in-game stats-menu says the AI is "gifted", yet the civs don't expand beyond their home system. Running TA 1.96

To all people having trouble finding the update on SDC: Check which server you are connected to. If it is US-2, try switching to server US-1. (Tools -> settings -> Internet). This did the trick for me. Updating to TotA 1.95 as we speak.

I really hate to ask for cheat codes and believe me I never thought about needing them for GalCiv at all, but I have found myself in an extremely annoying situation. A couple of turns ago the Terrans were able to acquire a Precursor-Ranger featuring ridiculously high weapon and armor stats which I will never be able to vanquish given the annoying technology-inflation feature so many are complaining about. What Iam wondering about in the first place is why those AI-

I'm also chiming in with the crowd on this issue and respectfully request the awesome developers of GalCivII to consider adjusting technology inflation to more moderate levels. I really enjoy the game and prefer playing in slow-tech mode, but the way technology is handled currently isn't acceptable.

Apart from the economic point of view, trade routes improve relations to other races so if you are a player not relying exclusively on warmongering, trade routes pay off in any case. On an side-note: I have been playing the recent betas and noticed that I could not build the Galactic Privateer (most useful building for trade-focussed people) any more, now was this building completely removed from the game or is it just limited to certain races and I just happenend not to play one of the

I also go like "aww not again..." whenever the Jagged Knife hits home but it's not because the game is ruined for me but for the fact that mopping up the aftermath of the event can get somewhat tedious, especially with abundant habitable planets/systems. Thing is you have to lead kind of a civil war to win back the colonies you just lost which isn't that hard considering you keep all of your ships. Just focus your economy on cranking out Invasion transports and recapture your own colon

I mostly play on "tough" - difficulty and never find it too hard to get one's economy going. Research or trade eco-techs early on, build a few eco-buildings and try to upgrade them to xeno banks asap which shouldn't take too long. Refrain from building anything that is too expensive for your economy to maintain - like research buildings, Thalan factories etc. Usually as soon as I start trading with other civs, my cash problems are a thing from the past. It's paramount to acquire leading-edge eco

Is Stardock going to release a demo of Sins? It looks all very nice on the videos, but I'd like to get some first hand experience with the game before I decide to buy it.

There are some decent workarounds for mentioned issues in this thread: [link="https://forums.galciv2.com/?forumid=274&aid=163249#1398438"]WWW Link[/link]

I had similiar experiences with the Yor. The economy almost killed me, until I managed to trade some eco techs with other races (banks & stock exchanges saved my day). I consider myself a fairly seasoned player, but the Yor gave me the hardest time so far. Still, this game being a product provided by the company entertaining the best customer relations in the industry, it's only going to be a matter of time till balance gets fixed.

Never encountered the Peacekeepers neither and oh how I'd love to kick their tree-hugging asses... My style of gaming doesn't seem to trigger certain events, I only got the Pirates once and it was a blast ridding the galaxy of this scourge. I would certainly be happy if I, as a player, had more influence on which mega events to happen in my games. What about an event that is designed like a galactic-wide invasion from a superior xenos race, which automatically has all surviving GalCiv-r

AWWW NOES, I'm playing the probably most thrilling game ever (TA Beta 3a, immense map, Iconians) battling it out with the Arceans and my end-turn button keeps disappearing no matter what. The Arceans are vaporizing one of my ships and - guess what, button gone, game over. Can't even select ships or planets anymore, in this very turn the game anything but totally freezes. Btw I made sure there are no ships on autopilot except for my freighters. Anybody here to give some advice? I mailed

Nobody has ever stated nerfing anomalies should be a priority - actually the discussion started because I made a mistake in identifying a bug that wasn't one in the first place. GalenEvil and I just happened to agree on the fact that unlike before, anomalies nowadays tend to be spammed on the map throughout the game (and I always set them to occasional) when, according to our opinion, it would suffice if there were plenty of anomalies in early game to help players survive until everyon

[quote] Always willing to give my amateurish point of view on things [/quote] Amateurish... took me a while just to figure out the basics of your example and still not sure if I even... oh well who cares, as long as anomalies get nerfed in future patches according to your suggestions.

18 Replies 6,928 Views

Actually anomalies are far too abundant for my taste - they reappear rather quickly which gives them a quite "inflationary" character in my opinion. If it was up to me, I'd have a bunch of anomalies at the beginning of the game when they are really important to keep an fledgeling empire alive, but see diminishing numbers the older the game gets - at a certain point when civilizations have consolidated there's no sense in having dozens of anomalies popping up. In fact, they should just vanish for
