Yeah, originally I thought it was -them- who were militaristic, but when I went and had a look at all of the civs against me, they all had the militaristic penalty. Why would they make 'militaristic' a diplomatic catagory if everyone automatically has it? And it wasn't just because my military was weak. I get the penalty even when I am rampaging across the galaxy (i.e. when *I* am being militaristic).

How do I avoid getting diplomatically penalised for being militaristic? The AI often claims that I am militaristic before I even build my first military unit! Is it because I am building too many colony ships or is it from colonizing worlds in other civs influence? Or something else? This lead to a rather unfortunate game where I attempted a diplomatic victory with the Alterans, only to get : -militaristic, -moral alig
