I have had the same issue as the original poster. I suspected drivers so updated to the most recent I could find (the version straight from intel, as Fujitsu hasn't issued any new ones). This did not fix the problem. I have Dark Avatar installed on this machine and it plays perfectly smoothly. I reduced quality to absolute minimum and still got the painfully slow playback.
