A stardock developed Star Control (real)3 would go right too the top of the list. The first time I played Star Control 2 was on my 3DO. It was and still is the BEST game I`ve ever played. Oh, System Shock 3 would be OK too...
I think this is another classical example of what can infuriate people to resort to piracy.
People don`t resort to piracy because they`re infuriated, They do it because they`re deadbeats. People want things for nothing. No one want`s to work for anything anymore. I think PC piracy is a syptom of societal decay. What happened to honour, Taking a man`s word as gold. It`s gone. People will try and get away with anyt

I have the same issue. I`ve looked over many tech forums for an answer to this, I haven`t found one. I`m guessing you have to finish the original CoH campaign to unlock the Brit one, Then the German one. I own the DVD ver of both games.
I love my PC too.
I find the Diablo series too repetitive for my liking. I don`t understand why people think D3 and SC2 graphics look bad though. I like the hand drawn look of them. Forget Diablo, I`m preording Star Craft II
Very true, I was interested in buying SWAT 4. It`s a couple years old now, Sierra want`s almost $40 for the gold edition download. No way, I think the games on steam are $5 to $10 dollars over priced as well.
I tried Everquest when it came out, I hated it. Run around and press the "A" key to watch a battle. No thanks. I bought the WoW battle chest, I hate it. Run around and watch a battle, No thanks. I bought D&D online. Better, I still hate it. I`m thinking about buying Conan and giving that a try. I have hope for the genre, I`d rather play Oblivion then any MMO.
I read this thread last night, Bought the game today. I`m glad I did, It just reek`s of quality. I`m not very far into it, The intro and beginning of the game are amazing. The sound quality in paticular is incredible. I`m also very happy that I can "feel" the System Shock heritage in this game.

I`ve been using 32 bit vista home premium for a few months now, I like it for the most part. My only problem with it...Vista alway`s seems to be accessing the hard drive or doing something on it`s own. I`ve shut down file indexing, Superfetch, Any non essential service is disabled. It still won`t stop. I`ve tried stardock`s tweak vista trial and didn`t see anything there that might stop it. Maybe in the full version? I`ve seen this same issue all over the internet. If anyone knows how
I have had the same issue on two other games CIV4 and Supreme Commander. In researching it I have found it in others inc GalCiv.
I`ve run both of these games and GalCiv2 on 3 different computers. The first 2 had WinXP an my new one Vista. I have never seen this happen in any of the 3. I don`t really have anything to add to this thread, I`m just amazed at so many people can have this issue yet I`ve never seen it once.
If sound is important to you, I can`t recommend a Creative X-fi sound card enough. If you try this card with it`s sound crystalizer enabled you`ll never be able to go back to onboard audio again. I was suprised at how dramatic an improvement it is.
I have also seen these issue`s in the 1.8 build.
ATI's site just shrugs at you and says "I have no idea what f***ing card you have, but it ain't the one you just downloaded drivers for." I`m sorry but...LOL!!!
You have to purchase the game from Stardock Central, You will then be able to play the beta.
WWW Link I recieved the exe file that Cari had sent to Rusty, I updated DA and used the replacement exe. It does work, It shows At the DA title screen in the bottom left corner, It says ver 1.50y. Is this the most recent version? Would I be playing the updated ver and see 1.50y because of the replacement exe file?

Get Cari to send you the exe that works, like she sent me. Can I get this exe sent to me as well, I`m still dealing with support trying to get this problem fixed. I`m going to include my DA debug and you`ll be able to see how similar it is to the debug posted earlier. Win 98, SE, and ME are so similar Cari`s exe should work for me as well, Hopefully? Debug Message: Version v1.50x3 Dark Avatar last updated on: Mon Mar 12 18:37:34 2007 Deb
The other problem is when I run the dark avatar exe directly it comes up with a message saying it is having problems activating the game, shows a blank screen briefly and I can hear the monitor switching video modes and then it drops out back to the desktop. I have registered dark avatar correctly. This is the same problem I`m still having
I purchased DA on Feb 9 I still haven`t received the "CD in a sleeve" I ordered. It`s "" I should be contacting for info on this?
The only thing I haven`t tried is a full reformat of my machine, Which I`m now seriously considering. I just finished reformatting my machine. I still cannot activate DA. There`s nothing left I can do.
Forget it
