Something that has always annoyed me is that a ship with a motor and a few weapons always has a disadvantage to a ship with no motor and all weapons. Having a motor should have a disadvantage in combat - however, I think it should also have a small positive effect so that the speed of the ship isnt just completly ignored in combat. You could have a system where for each 1 speed that a ship has over the enemy, it gets a 10% chance of getting a free hit at the begining of combat

This happened to me before the beta. I just uninstalled and then reinstalled - worked fine.

No, the shield and sensor issue isn't just a case of not being able to add it - no shields or life support modules appear in the list to even select. It is as if I am missing a whole file on them. The shield category is present but there are no actual shields in them. The wierd thing is though that I've tried reinstalling a few times and the same issue occurs. Yes, I have researched all the techs and some components will just not appear to be selected. I mean the star background on the main map ( purely visual backdrop). Instead of it all being black, there will be a white square of varying size.
