Thank you
Yehudah
Duly noted. I will look at that tonight. I think you very much!
Will I ever play it? Or is it outshined by it's sequel?
I definitely will. Where will I find this race's file?
I created a custom race for one game. Now every game I play with random races includes it (and strange, other random races not part of the original set). How do I reset it so that when I start a game with random races, all the races are the original ones?
OK, thank you very much. i didn't realize that changing it was so easy. I have to say, other than that it's really a flawless game. Thank you for such a superior product that has provided me with so much entertainment.
If it's not already counted in the random events, you should be able to easily mod it out by tweaking the shipcfg file for it in the data folders (just cut the armaments down as you like).
Hmm. Can I open that file with a text editor?
I started a thread in the main forum about how unbalanced the precursor ships can be, especially under the TA expansion. Sometimes they turn up and are far more powerful than anything any of the races can build themselves. I feel it is a game-breaker. Is there any way to bundle it under the 'random events' so that it can be turned off?
Has anyone brought this up with the game developers? It seems to me that these ships should be part of the random events that can be turned off. Because it really can be game-breaking.
OK, so there's no way to prevent them from turning up? can't turn off random events? Why were they put in the game anyway? I's very unbalancing...
A few hundered turns in. (not sure exactly, haven't been paying that close attention). Difficulty is 'easy', small galaxy. The Ai has two of the precursor rangers, and they smash up everything they come in conatct with.
I'm playing TA, and these ships are monsters.
Really? That's bad. It's a single ship that can destroy an entire fleet.
Every once in a while someone finds one of the precursor ships. And it totally throws the game's balance out of whack. They're way stronger than anything that can be build for much of the game. How do I turn this off?
