1) Separate campaign from standard games more At the moment the standard games suffer from including campaign elements and vice versa. In the campaign you have to keep researching the same things over and over again, whilst in the standard games you are burdened with pre-existing histories between the races (that should be a campaign feature only). I'm a big Civilization and sci-fi fan, so from the start I thought GalCiv would be the perfect game for me, but I lost interest because the gameplay just didn't grip me like I thought it would; parts of the game were frustrating or simply distractingly nonsensical. Anyway, I thought I'd return to give my suggestions on how GalCiv3 can be made, in my opinion at least, better. Apologies if any of these things were changed in Twilight of the Arnor; I didn't get as far as that expansion. </p

Is it still the case that you can't alter the ships you are given at the start? I'm trying to create a 'decelerated start' mod where every race starts out with no tech, no money and no ships on a normal random map. The first two things were easy enough, but I haven't found a way to stop the game giving out free ships.
