Hi! I've downloaded the beta 5 and my computer totally freezes up when Galactic Council window pops up. I mean it totally locks up - I need to restart it just to get back into windows :-( And another thing that I've noticed in both Dark Avatar and TA - my colony ship can only carry 250 colonists, while the module is supposed to carry 500. It's incredibly annoying since planets grow REALLY slow when starting with 250 colonists. I've tried enabling hardware cursor in TA to see if that solves the

hahaha... damn, i totally forgot about that super-ability. me stupid, never mind
another details.. this only happens to my ship in particular area of the map - one occupied by Yor Collective. Very strange..
At some point, as soon as I form ships into a fleet, their total movement points would go to 3 or 1 in some cases. Even after I disband the fleet, the movement points would stay at 3. My ships each have 4 HyperWarp III modules, their movement should be 25 but for some reason it's 3. Other ships which I haven't joined into fleet yet (of the same design) have movement 25. This is VERY frustrating! I hope it's just a fluke and not a common bug - because that would make the game unplayable. I thi
yeah, that's what I would do. My uber-pc with a nice video card stayed in NYC and I moved to Moscow with my laptop. I guess no pretty graphics for me I'll try re-enabling some settings one by one and see at which point it crashes.
thanks a lot guy for your responses.. well, i went to the extreme - disabled ALL textures, went to hardware cursor, turned autosave off and set the resolution to 1280x800. With those setting it works. Looks like crap with no graphics at all but at least I can now PLAY! Strategic map looks fine anyway I'm hoping Stardock comes up with a patch or some workaround so that people with integrated intel v-cards
damn, i tried two older version of the driver - via setup and the oldest drivers via developer version. With the oldest drivers, I actually managed to play for about 20 turns before the same thing happened - my display driver failed and I got the same error ;-( This is so strange - why does Gal Civ II work but DA does not?!?! It must be the new graphics changes that just won't work with my integrated video card. Any other ideas? ...besides getting a new PC <img src="http://images.stardock.com/
thanks for the responses.. kryo, i already tried the latest drivers for my video card - just installed themn today.. It didn't work - same issue. Gal Civ II works fine, but DA doesn't ;-( Eisles, I'll try to download an older version of intel video drivers and maybe also go for the developer version.
Hi! I've been playing GalCiv II with no problems at all on my laptop since its release. Even now, GalCiv II works perfectly. I pre-ordered DA, was involved in the beta and had this problem then, but thought it'll be eventually worked out in the final version. Well, I downloaded final version and still same problem. When I start the game, after a few seconds it freezes, then my display driver fails, reverts back to 16 colors and I get this message: The ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped worki
