The highest I've seen was class 53, but it was glitched or something, it had only 48 spaces.

Should've mentioned a bit more, I was at 'Advanced' spying, and I could see that the ships didn't have any life support systems, and could see they didn't have the techs, I checked, since it seemed odd they were so far away from their system, they controlled no planets, resources, or anything on my side of the map. The UP hadn't created the law that makes Starbases assist allies, and even if they had no one had allied yet by this point in the game. I also highly doubt it was a wormhole, since it
It seems to me that the AI ignores Life Support entirely. Throughout my most recent game, 9 opponents on a Gigantic map, I was getting visiting ships from the opposite side of the map. I had all life support abilities researched by this point, and the AI was really far down on the tech tree, with only Basic Life Support researched. According the Eyes of The Galaxy, and all the Sensor Picket ships that I sent out exploring, there were also no Stations built that allowed the various teams to exten
It's a modernized world, think Star Trek. Heck, maybe India becomes the world's next superpower and leads us into an age of global peace in the GalCiv continuity.
I also think that weapons and armor should stay the same size no matter the size of the ship. Though it might be good to make a few ultra-large and powerful guns for the Huge and Massive hulls (Omega Beam fire!).
When I play I tend to boost up the taxes as high as I can, topping off at 69%, to try and squeeze as much money as possible out of my people. Lately I've been wondering though if it would be better to have lower taxes but more Farms, with my taxes up so high it takes a huge amount of Entertainment buildings to keep my planets content. Having lower taxes would let me build more farms before my people get upset, but I'd be getting less money from each of
I have to ask, why would we flame you because your game was crashing? Also, Periods, commas, and other puncuations are your friends.
Neutral gives you a bonus to Soldiering? I thought other than the extra Techs they just got a bonus to Morale.
Also to the person who wished you could build up defences on the planet you can. You can make defences to make the troops 25% better, and all sorts of fleet improving defences to ensure your ships fight better in orbit. Yes, that 25% bonus that takes up a slot on the planet is comparable to +100%-200
Gotta disagree Bovi, neutral is the best, Extra Trade routes and trade goods are perfect for funding research. When I go neutral I can tech right past the computer players and stomp them with high-tech weapons and defenses. Once the neutrality Learning Centers are put in the game, it'll be even better.
Since I focus on research a lot I love custom Freighters. Their defense is high enough that they can usually take the first volley and fire back. Upping speed is kinda pointless though, since it still takes them the same amount of time to make a round-trip. And yes, sensors are awesome, combined with Eyes of the Universe, there is little you can not see.
Hey, anouther officer here bumping our thread, stop on by, our forums are a lot easier to use than these, just underpopulated at the moment.
I'd just like some defensive strategies to counter the offensive ones. At the moment the attacker is pretty much assured a victory if he's willing to damage the planet.
I build orbital defense platforms for my planets. As big a ship as I can make loaded with weapons and defense, no engines or life support.
Can't forget Alderaan or however the former Star Wars planet was named.
Am I the only person who has decently strong minor races? I've seen major races get stomped by them before. Not an uncommon thing either, I see minor races win wars with strong major races at least 1 out of every three games.
A union for the Galatic Civilizations game series has been set up on Gamespot. We just formed it a few days ago and have started a recruitment drive, so if you have a gamespot account sign up here. Link
Seems easy enough to me why they'd care if you turn into a ball of light. If I remember correctly, it says that you're also gaining god-like power. I'm fairly certain I wouldn't want someone who wasn't me having that power.
I like the Galatic Privateer, I dunno if it actually does anything, but after I build it the AI players refuse to attack my shipping anymore, even if it routes directly past one of their planets.
