Using a 6800 and 81.98....no significant issues appear to me yet.

What is the most effective position sand the distances to build starbases? Is it a good idea to build an influence starbase and economy starbase adjacent to a military base so that it has better protection?

When i'm done with the design of a ship and tried to save, the game will sometimes crash out to windows. Is it a bug or my PC's issue?

I just got the game yesterday. As i progress, my government is still Imperial since options like republic and etc didn't appear selectable to me. Is it needed to be research like in Civ games?
