I have the same problem with vista home 64bit after the update; TA crashes after the introduction video. I will try to reinstall Dark avatar/ TA and see if it works. -> works after reinstallation.
Interesting to read..especially the parts where people are against health care for everybody, it is a major achievement I think. I definitly prefer living in country which offers this to being part of a superpower (and I cannot see that it hampers economics - germany is not doing too bad). Where is the power when you get seriously ill and you cannot afford a cure which could help you??? Somebody wrote something about darwin and sorting the weak out. Hmm... I doubt that building and managing 168 constructors would be fun, if you are not into score grinding (And then comes a war, and they are all gone...).
..so.. I create a savegame on very easy where I am just starting an invasion and load this game every time i start GalCiv. Then I load my "real" game.. Sounds ok as a workaround :-).
