Starbases can be essentail, but they also are far to powerful. A fully whacked up military base in the right place is just far to powerfull, all the advantages it gives to nearby fleets mean they are praticaly indestrutible. This is so cheesiy its painfull, esp as the AI doesn't seem to really use them allowing me to dominate if I so desire. I would suggest toning down star bases a bit and make the AI better at using them, rather than just b

I have used this tactic myself, but I must admit I don't particularly like it as it just feels WAY to cheesy. I really hate it when i take a planet and find out that I have jumped 2 - 3 tech steps for buildings, or have those 3-5 sized planets that I just use for economy boosting but find themselves unable to finish a building before its upgraded. I wish it was possible to build a basic building and then upgrade it, rather than having to build the latest greatest and longest to build
Becareful about stuffing as many troops as possible onto a ship. If you have ships carrying 1000 troops and you fight a battle using 2 ships (2000 troops) and loose 999 troops then you will be left with 1 ship. If you have 1 ship with 2000 troops and fight a battle loosing even 1 troop the ship will be destroyed.
Change the way it handles Back to Planet. ---- When you goto the space ship build que from the planet and select a ship to build, then if you click back to planet it forgets what you jsut asked to be built. You have to enter DONE at which point it kicks you back to the main map. This is a real pain when you are cycling through your planets making sure all your build ques are in order. Also is it possible to be able to launch fleets from your planet, select 2+ ships and cre
Not sure if this counts as an easy tweak, it could be extremely simple or take months of testing to get right. Multiply Damage, Sheilds, Hit Points, Build Space and size by ten, then allow upgraded components to have a better improvement feel. I.E. Particle Bean goes from damage 1 to D 10. the PB2 could go from D1 to D11. Laser goes from D1 to D12 Laser 2 becomes D13 e.t.c. Phasor goes from Damage 2 to Da
Not sure if this has baan addressed elsewhere, but whats the difference between approval and moral? You get bonus squares on the map that help approval, but no building to improve approval. I assume that entertainment buildings do but they say morale. Also how about having a way to jump techs? For example - I have spent huge amounts of time investing in Lasers - Phasors, defeating my foes. Now a new empire has gone to war with me and it has
