They are actually quite different. If I remember correctly, Galactica was not turned base so you really have to move very fast or abuse the pause button. Also, I seem to recalll the AI was pretty bad, and the best strategy was to get a single mega fleet and lay waste to the galaxy... not many other options. That said, I did enjoy it and had some very cool concepts and ideas. The fleet battles were actually quite good too.
Not to spoil your roleplay fun, but looking around Earth now and in its past history humans do appear to be pretty nasty and warmonging.
Yes, I am crashing a lot too since the new beta released. Unfortunately, I have no pointers to give you. Furthermore, not only I am CTD but even getting BSD sometimes
Yup... I am having the same exact problem. Maybe it is not up yet? Though the updater seems to think it is
Voice overs? Ich glaube nicht!
Thank you for all the responses... and delighted to know it is a bug and not by design. I did end up using only 1 large ship per fleet and filling the rest with mediums and smalls. Next game I'll give it a new try

I have gotten to the point in which I can build large ships but even though my logistics is up to 16, I can't put more than 1 large ship in a fleet. While I suppose it would make sense to have only one capital ship in a fleet, there is no indication this should be the case (only 5 logistic points per larg

Just for the record.... Capitol = The building of Congress in Washington D.C. (Earth), or the original building of the same name and function in ancient Rome Capital = The political, economical or technological center of a country or planet (in GalCiv).
