Ok, i'll try that, vista said the current driver was up-to-date, but i was checking via device manager. Thx
Galaxicon
ok, here is the whole file, note that i installed galciv2, dark avatar and twilightarnor altogether from stardock on my new system. I'm not sure if that matters. Once again i find myself fighting with galciv 2, drivers updated, increased page file, lowered graphics etc. nothing works. It did work for about 30 turns or so. 2GB memory running on vista ultimate with 7600 gt video. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. All my other games work fine.
You can set hardware cursor in the game options. Did not work for me. I read in the known issues list that those who built their own computer with a fairly beefy video card may experience these lock ups. To that I can only say that the coding in the game is fundamentally poor and will require many patches to become stable. I have no issues with any other games crashing on my machine.
I have the same problem and have done everything else (updated drivers, throttle frame rate, reinstall latest version etc.) I notice especially while loading a saved game after exiting GC2.
Is it just me or does others experience more crashes with this latest beta update? No, it's not just you. I got tired of rebooting. Play something else until the next patch and try it then. I remember going through this with civ3 and after about the 4th patch it finally worked. Btw civ4 is a grea
Why not fix the current one first, I still have yet to get through a complete game without a crash. Rebooting my machine takes too long so I end up playing something that works.
Did you check your page file size? 2 GB is good. Also turn off anti-aliasing. Your system is similar to mine and I was having similar problems until I did these 2 things.
This worked for me: Put your page file size at 2 GB and turn off anti-aliasing. I don't know what the minimum specs are, but I don't see any need for a video card greater than a gforce 3. A decent enough game game in itself, but poorly coded. I'm using a 850 pro in a P4 2.4 and run flawlessly on high settings for oblivion and bfme2 but i have to turn off antialiasing for gc2???
Also turn off anti-aliasing.
Many less crashes since i increased the page file size after reading the known issues.
Freeze-ups really stink, have to reboot, suppose it's a good thing for those autosaves Can't be bothered, other good games out now that don't crash. It did look interesting but a little like moo4, which sucked
Same thing with beta, looks like a random video freeze, though I am using latest video drivers.
I posted this 4 days ago in the debug forum and it never showed up. Lol, even the debug forum is buggy.
cannot get past about 5 minutes in the game before it just freezes, then I must reboot. I'm just trying to get my post in the bug forum so... bump. Ironic isn't it, even the debug forum is buggy.

When designing a new design in the shipyard, I have to name it "new design" or it will tell me that I cannot modify a core ship design. I have tried every way imaginable to get around this but nothing works.
