Fair enough if you spend that long on the design, but for my use the designer has become more tedious. Anyway, the way the developers solved your problem makes no sense. I would have ADDED some sort of prototype functionality, I would NOT have REMOVED a perfectly fine function! Considering how cool the designer is, it boggles the mind why they chose this route.

Well, it's one of the most annoying "features" I've seen for some time... It pretty much makes the Upgrade button useless. I like to make small changes whenever I get a new tech, but that has now become a chore. Please make this optional so that the ship designer gets fun to use again!
