Your system look unbalanced, lot of problem can occur from this. For my part, my pc is athlon 1.8 gig (athlon 2500+ xp pro) But I have 1.5 gig of pc2700, wich make my pc kicking ass, for now hehe.

Seriously, do I am the only one not to like Civilization 4 ? I find it is a crappy game, it is incomplete and children looking. I dont like the way they set up the management. I'm an hardcore fan of civilization since the first one. The only fun thing are religion and the main and only one true improvement is that how you shape governement and politics. I have purchased the special edition at pre-order. I still regret my 70$ canadian dollars. I'm thinking about selling it on ebay.

I play Star Republic and I'm on a conquest game, I always maintain 70% of approval and I'm playing at challenging difficulty, for my third game. It's my first time I try thoses setting and everything working great ! This is actually not a problem to do war or make a conquest with this type of governement; I dont know for the others. Anyway, the vote period and thoses difficulty just had something necessary to this game, in my opinion.

Same for me. I suspect this my keyboard who got a problem. With thoses chinese made multilingual (english/french canadian) it is something you can expect !! lol

Yeah this is not a usefull command. Such commands already existed for example in Warcraft series. I played warcraft 1-2-3 with all expansions lot of times and never used thoses command, simply because it not usefull, sepcially if you have the possiblity to play without fog of war. In that case, the best way is to move them by yourself. There's a point where if the computer is doing al the job at your place, why playing the game ??

Yeah my actual game is like that. At challenging level, huge map, 9 civ, 4 civilization have gone before I was able to be near the greatest power (drengin empire, korx) But that's how I like it hehe.

ROBO is right, I did it, I built an influence starbase at long range of my own border and it created a new area of influence of my civilization, and I had no planet near there !! I still think you have to select special position to build your influence base, since it has an area of effet, it's useless to build it in the center of your empire. You better build it a long range, near ennemy border.

Buy this game... I received my used copy of collectors edition 5 days ago, and since I got it, I play it intensively. It's good because I'm on vacation too, but I should be looking for a job instead of playing this...

I'm a bit confuse about this, I'm noob and now I dont understand how those influence starbase work lol !!!! - Correction : What I am reading in the official manual, is that the main idea with influence starbase, is to build them in a spot where you want your influence border to expand. So to cause a planet revolt, you build those base near it. I'm not sure if they can really do something near planet. It is not clear in the book. Correct me if I'

This is my third game now, my second true one, and I'm always under attack by someone, the drengin empire constantly ask me money not to declare war lol.. I'm playing at challenging difficulty on huge map with 9 civilization (yor collective got eleminated too fast !!) and most of them dont like me since I was the poorest civilization. lol !!! That game AI is superior to all I have seen in other turn based game. They even anticipate what you are doing !!!

I dont remember having difficulty to do it... you just need good relation with ia civilization and all the tech related.

In my frist true game on a large map, the korx became so big that I needed the help of arcean, iconian and even the drengin empire all against them. They destroyed the drath legion while having all thoses civ against them. they are freakin strong I LOVE THIS GAME

I receive some message like that too. I just can't find the pirates, I hope they would be more, they could even control small planet with limited quality and population. Hehe

I have an athlon xp 2500+ (1.8ghz), with radeon 9800 pro 128 mbs and 1,5 gig of pc2700, it take no more than 30 second to load huge save game !

You guys are doing FREAKING CRAZY ships !!! Wow, I'm noob but I already know the ship I used to design will need a better look, rofl.
