Even easier. Just go in your diplomacy screen, under the info tab of the race you are allied with (I think it's the right tab, if not then just search all tabs in diplomacy screen) and you will see under the picture of the ally a check box with break alliance next to it. Check the box and voila, no more alliance.

About those ships. Must your race be lucky to find them? I've played dozens of games but never found one. But I've also never used the lucky trait. Might this be the reason why? Can anyone tell me if you pay maintenance for those ships?
I got the prison world once and some prisoners broke out and destroyed a few economy stations before I could dispose of them. I don't think it was really worth it for me to have that 50% bonus for the trouble it cost me.
The only sports game from EA that I play is NHL 2006. I've never tried to sim games so I can't comment on that particular aspect of the AI. However I play a lot of BF2. I do understand the game is supposed to be played MP, but I was still very disappointed when I fired up SP mode and found the AI to be completely inept and stupid. I personally believe that EA is not a publisher that has the quality of it's games at heart. As an example, BF2 has 2 updates which created more issu
The first level where I get any challenge at all is the aptly named challenging level. Not very difficult and the games I play at this level are decided well before I'm out of the mid-game point. Next Game I'll ramp up the level a notch and see what happens
I second that.
Unbeleivable! What a waste of forum space. Now what does it matter to your appreciation of the game if the moons have retrograde orbits? If that's what you were looking for in a program you should be buying a program from NASA or the ESA. If you want a game enjoy the gameplay and shut up about unimportant things like this.
If all the races were to be perfectly balanced there would be no use for multiple races. Just take 1 set of stats and give them to all the races. That's balance, everybody's equal. That is not, however, what I want out of this game. I want each race to have specific strenghts and weaknesses so that I can learn to play different style of game depending on my opponent. Learn to adapt to your enemy and there will be no need to nerf
In reply to # 5 I agree with your idea. Makes more sense if you can determine your spending for each planet instead of for your empire . This system would also allow to specialize your worlds better.
Now any serious answer to my question will be gladly appreciated...
I have the same issue with the game I'm playing right now. I have all the techs mentionned by Safari Joe, actually I also have advanced hull design, but still I can't design a medium-sized vessel. Or more to the point, I can't save the ships that I design. I will invariably get a message saying that I can't modify core ships. I don't have this problem if I design small or tiny ships. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
