I'm on the fence about tech trading. It's pro's are you can trade military tech to the minior races especially the logistics and range techs. This way you can give them warships and have them declare war on your rival. Now they have the tech to support large fleets and the distance to take the fight to the enemy who may be far away. The con is I think it spoils the point of TA. Each race has it's own tech tree and to grab techs from other races kind of diminishes the uniqess and the entire point

I just finished the TA campaign and I have to say I was pretty underwhlemed at the ending. There was many questions left and I felt many more missions to play. What happened to the Korath? Did they return to there normal selves or still hell bent on wiping out life in the Universe? What about the liberation of Earth? There should have been missions where the Earth fleet fights it's way back to Earth and liberate our HW so the shield can be taken down and we can bring the fight back to the Kor

I'm on a campaign mission where I have to ally with the Iconians and fight off the Korath and Yor. I devoted my research into diplomacy as the goal of the mission was to create an Alliance and therefor win. When I got the Alliance tech I traded it to the Iconians and waited till I can talk to them again. When the time came to talk to the Iconians I couldn't create an Alliance with them. I was on friendly terms with them and already had a economic and research treaty with them. What does

In the campaign mission "Sea of Dread" I get all my ships to x4, y0 and they sit there and do nothing and the game never ends. What am I missing?

My saved game of TA keeps crashing at the same spot right after I hit "End" turn. Every game I played for TA always crashes on me eventually sometime earlier then others. It appears something happens that causes the game to crash every time at the same points in the game. What can I do to fix this issue? Thank you.

Thanks for the advice and I followed it. I can't update GC2 Gold Edition through StarDock and I wish to update to 1.6 When I try to update it ask for my seriel number and when I enter it I get the message "can't update account information". Does this have to do with the fact that I own GC2 Gold Edition? Dark Avatar is fine I can inpute my seriel number and have it recognized and all but not with my GC2. Please help because I want to get Twilight of the Arnor soon. Thank you.

Thank you I was able to use Stardock and register my Dark Avatar but I wasn't able to update my GC2 Gold Edition. When I try to enter my serial number I keep getting Failed to update account information I wonder if this have to do with that fact that I purchased GC2 Gold Edition retail which includes Dark Avatar. Hi I just got a new machine with Vista 32bit. I tried installing GC2 Gold Edition but I kept getting a windows error message so I decided to download Stardock and try it that way. I downloaded the game and it was installed. Can I order Twilight of the Arnor and download it today and play it today or will I have to wait till release date to play Twilight of the Arnor. Ah I see thank you very much. Can I get the defense bonuses if I leave 1 hull of empty space or am I forced to apply some token defense to get my military base defenses?

Sometimes my military bases doesn't supply my ships with defense bonuses inside it's sphere of influence. I've seen this happen about 50/50 and it's really annoying. I spend constructors on these military bases only to find out their 1/2 broken. What's the cause of this and how can I fix it or work around it? Thank you. PS - The bases always seem to supply to weapon bonuses, just not the defenses bonuses.

It turns out DA was not able to update to 1.6 there was an error but the tuturiols, media and movie was able to update. Ok here is the deal. I bought GC:DA Gold edition which comes with GC and DA is included. I have the serial number and it's in the back of the jewel case. I enter this serial number and I keep getting invalid serial number. Now I can't freaking update my very own game. I'll keep trying...

I got it working it was simple as restarting my computer. It appears even though I shut off my firewall yesterday night my computer it was still some how blocking access to the server. The next day (today) I started up my pc and went to Stardock and was able to log in. My firewall prompted me asking permission to allow Stardock to access the server which I allowed and I logged in. I can't upgrade to GC:DA II 1.6 because my Stardock will not connect to the server. I keep getting a message saying that possible internet settings or firewall are preventing me from contacting the server. I have my firewallk shutdown and I set the lowest settings on my IE and still Stardock won't let me connect to the server. Does any one have a solutions for this? Thank you.

In my previous experience I flipped a planet from the Torians really quikcly. Once my 2nd influence bas was up with a combined total of nearly 500 influence points the planet flipped the next turn. Granted it was a medium size world.

I'm wondering if it's easier to flip planets by using influence then conquering them. In my last game I decided to find out for my self. I researched all the influence techs and it was pretty quick. I sometimes think about removing the Speed +2 so I can get 8 bonus points to spend elsewhere, the Military +50 I would keep. But giving up Speed +2 is like downgrading from broadband to dial up.. The values of morale and the effect it has on your population happiness changed alot for DA from DL, morale got nerfed so to speak. Is it possible in the starship intelligence report to remove to window below that has the ship data and also to remove the other windows that have the rest of the ships data. What I want is just an unobstructed view of the ship, so in essance all I want is a ship viewer in game.
