I load the game at the end of the first mission, hit end, finish, get a movie then a screen summarizing performance then when I hit done it crashes to desktop. It did this the first time aswell, without loading the game.

I have had exactly the same problem with the following specs: Del XPS M1530, Dual 2.0 ghz, 160 (5400rpm) HD, Nvidia 8600 GT graphics, Windows Vista 32-bit. The game always crashes going into mission 2 in TotA. Any help would be appreciated.
