Well, to some degree they'll be able to do better about temperature than species with blood. But they won't be able to take just any temperature. Materials don't operate as well under lower temperatures -- they're more brittle, move slower, etc. I forget what temperature space is supposed to be (4 Kelvin?), but there's a reason ships need to be insulated and heated, even for machines. But I do agree. Machines wouldn't worry so much about
Ok, I have a question. Can you make fleets for planetary defense (so if AI attacks your planet, it fights a fleet and not just one ship at a time)?
Maybe I'm missing something simple here. How do you defend your planets with fleets instead of individual ships? This does not mean launching x ships and making a fleet with them and putting them in the way. I mean as planetary defense. Apologies if this has already been addressed in another thread.
LOL So, in the end, did anyone win the pissing match, or did everyone just get collectively covered in piss? Come on, guys. We can talk about issues we have with the game, state our opinions (flawed or not), and learn from each other's experiences without resorting to personal attacks. True debate, in my opinion (which may be incorrect from others' points of view), results in a good discussion where neither party gets
Totally with Caelistis on that last post. Also: I've had several games that I bought legitimately not work and had to subsequently crack them. That really ticked me off. And a note about piracy -- I've pirated my fair share of software in the past (not Gal Civ II, though), and I've found that I tend to buy the games I like anyhow. Especially if they have the kind of support Stardock has. Demos, good (unpurchased--you can tell) reviews,
Personally, I think Starforce needs to give Stardock a little compensation. Or more than a little. How about a lot. I also will refuse to buy any game copyprotected by Starforce software. edit: Especially since StarForce (as a company) appears to not only be careless, but also (as software) damages your PC and makes it open to viruses.
This is just getting ridiculous. I think the first post pretty much sums it up. We can't always have our cake and eat it too.
