I've been playing computer games for 25 years and I've never had a problem READING and KNOWING what I Intended to do when I was SAVING or LOADING a game. If you're too impatient to pay attention to what you are doing then you deserve to lose anything you lost.

You've got to quit playing the game on that 486sx25 puter. ;) Get a REAL computer like my I7 X58 4ghz with 6gb of 7 latency ram. ;) Then you won't have those silly old computer problems. ;) All too many gamers think when a game says MINIMUM requirements that the game is going to run full blast full speed ahead with minimum GRAPHICs on, but, that is not the case. It means the bare minimum for the game to run at all. lol
I bet you are running that crappy Vista OS aren't you?
Wow you exploiting lil bassturds. Never seen so much ai exploiting in all my born days. Truely proves the Game Genie age has arrived. In case you don't know what a game Genie is it was a console cheat mechanism invented back in the mid 80's to allow kids to cheat their way through games and teach them to exploit the mechanics of the game instead of trying to beat it on their own. Then when PC's arrived game magazines started publishing cheat codes and I was just amazed game developers we
Yet, there are still those that say MOO II is still the best. But, after playing GalCiv2 and all the expansions MOO II finally moves into 2nd place for me. But, Sins of the Solar Empire well some may like it but real time just don't cut it with me as far as strategy goes. RTS games use templates not strategy. They aren't even a good chess game since once you have a template build rarely do you ever change from it.
Yeah baby I was just thinking about this idea today (and other days but today it came back to me again). I'd love to have an rgp space/trading game like Freelancer with a flucuating economy and several stories not just one. Something more open ended like Daggerfall by Bethesda. Elite Frontier tried to do this years ago, but, the game was so buggy and crashed so often that it failed. I'd love to see another version of this with 3D first person gaming on planets and in space. Sorta like Bethesd
This AI does not cheat at this level. You just don't know how to play. Every game I play at this level I get way ahead of the ai in economy and research and only lag behind in military/industrial/social production as I'm getting ahead in the main catagories. Then when I am so far ahead I turn to military production and reap the rewards of being the most advanced civ on the map as every AI will buy my techs from me and bow to my power as my military climbs way above the rest. Learn how to buil
Also if you are economically sound like I always am you can just buy a race to start a war with another race. Plus the higher your diplomatic rating the easier it is to get them to start a war and the less it costs. Sometimes just giving them a small puny tech or a weapon tech will get them started. I once had the entire galaxy at war with one another and I was friends with them all reaping the rewards as I would jump into them when a race had lost significant holdings and ships. lol It's kin
Ummm I believe Walmarts sells alarm clocks why don't you go buy one of them. Be cheaper than coding one into the game. ;)
That's pretty kewl, but, I'm finding the ai too easily is letting go of it's unique techs. I also see Stardock and Froggy never fixed the back door of information from all races and what they are researching next. If you goto STATS and then MISL tab you can see what each race is researching and how long until it is researhed. Watching this every turn you can then sell them or trade them the tech and make a profit on it before they get to it by 1 or 2 turns (my choice). Or you can rush
Hey I had an issue can I get my 33% off coupon? (fingers crossed behind my back) How about a Black Friday EVERYBODY gets 33% off on their next purchase? Huh? Huh? Great idea huh? ;)
And can I trade for it and get the unique tech myself? I mean I did trade and I got it in my tech tree now, but, does that mean I get the benefits from it or is it just in name only?
My game just crashed also after ALT/Tabbing to come here and ask a question. When I tried to go back to the game I got a microsoft error message blah blah blah and has to shutdown. Then the whole thing froze and I couldn't click on anything to see why. I had to use CTRL+ALT+DEL to get the task popup box so I could stop the processes. So, we can't ALT+Tab out of the game to ask questions or read the stupid PDF manual ? This is one of the reasons I hate online downloads you get a sorry PDF manu
I am now playing Twilight and I noticed during a trading of techs session that one or two of the races had a tech that has an asterix by it. Like WAR ROOM? So, what does this mean when a race has an asterix by one of it's techs?
Then it wouldn't be a random map and I would know where everything is. Or is it possible to make a map and then have the game randomize it? Would be nice if they had a feature where you just put how many habitable planets you want in the universe and then the program randomly spread them out.
Well after jumping through several hoops and finally getting this expansion downloaded and finally getting to setup a game I am simply in AWE that I can create the races I want to play against. No more passive AI non aggressive types for me. I wanted to see what it would be like to play against my own race or custom creation I made. Now I can do it. Thanks Stardock and Froggy. ;) Also question: Is there any charts anywhere that someone maybe has made that will give you an idea of how
Oh gawd don't tell me I now have to deal with this as well. I have the GC2 Gold edition boxed set I got from Amazon.com. Now you're telling me the download of TA I just bought and am downloading finally now isn't going to work?? You guys need to get your chit together and make stuff that works with the products you sell and not just online but in stores as well. Us having to muck with the registry is rediculous. I certainly don't feel like or even want to download the whole series over again
Thanks guys I finally found it, why the fark don't they tell you in the verification email to press that GD ? in the upper right hand corner? To top it all off the flippin server or whatever it is made me use my email address for paying with paypal instead of my normal user name I always use here. What a pain in the A$$ this is. I tell yah I been using Gamers Gate and whatever the fark Strategy First uses and now this and every online download has been a pain in the A$$ to get and get to play
You've GOT to be KIDDING US. The download speed of Impulse is cut in half compared to SDC!? This is preposterous! And what's this crap the retail version of Endless Universe will not be sold in the states??! So you give everybody else the chance to get these expansions in the BARGAIN BIN later on and not US as in U.S.??!! Well I just guess I will be IMPORTING them from UK then pfffffft on gew. Man Stardock used to be a great company, but, this mess is getting worse than STARFORCE in that you
Isn't it funny in a world where there is very little challenge to most games that people complain when a game finally has some. Lil Tommy Tucker could't beat the bad ole pirates the first time so it's time to nerf the entire project because HE couldn't. lol
The human players looks for holes in the program and uses them instead of playing fairly and not using things the AI would never use. What developers are saying though is they CAN program these AI's to use those exploits and cheats just like the human player and defeat them, but, then you would hear much crying and gnawing and gnashing of teeth if the AI did what a human does to it.I do *partly* agree with you, but most of the "exploits" in Galciv2 involve taking advantage of holes in the
Not at all I play on huge galaxies, but, yes military wins all that other stuff is romper room type of play (play nice don't hit the other children lol). I play with tech trading off and it's quite the challenge to take out all the other AI's I play against. See, I DON'T HAVE TO WIN every single game. That's the problem I see with so many other players, if they can't win they don't want to play it. So, they use every gamey exploit or mechanical exploit they can find in the game to puff up their
Tech trading should be removed altogether as that is just an exploit vs the AI. The human player ALWAYS comes out ahead in in tech trading. So, no they don't just need to disable trading of race specific techs, but, all of them to the human player. People always complain about how easy the AI is well this is one sure fire way to make it a bit harder and stop the human players from exploiting it. ;)
Well let's face it if the programmers made ALL the AI's grunt rush the human player turn 1 the human player wouldn't be around very long. They would all play by the same rules and not get any bonuses they would just either all ALLY or just all attack the human player from turn 1 and never sue for peace or grant the human player peace. I played a LOT of Age of Empires to see this happen to me more than once when I'd have 3 AI opponents on the map. They'd all come after me an early and I
I just played about three hours worth of a Terran game (large map, challenging to start with) and I am quite happy with it. I don't have time to go into much detail, but I had a great experience. If I had to say right off what was my favorite thing, I would go with the Ascension Victory condition, if only because at this point I have three of the crystals and am set to win in about 250 turns.
If you can win that easily already then it's not a very good game or very challe
