This problem cropped up again, with no known cause. As I alt tab to type this message, alot of stuff on my computer is missing text and graphics too. Heh. It's caused by the game though, as I never have these issues with any other game.

I've had trouble finding any more up to date sound drivers. My sound card has been giving me lots of issues lately. I plugged in a microphone the other day, a few times, and half the time my game would get a BSOD. So it's been giving me issues, but not sure about the graphics thing. Just got the game. Wanted to quickly create a race and log in to see the asteroids and such before bed. I wasn't in for but two minutes before I pressed escape twice while I was dragging somewhere on the map, and for some reason the game switched to all black, except for a tiny square of revealment near the cursor. I just got my best one ever. It only has a planet quality of 9, but on it it has a 700% research bonus, a 300% research bonus, a 300% manufacturing bonus, a 100% manufacturing bonus, a 100% food bonus, and 100% influence bonus. Best i've ever seen in my games. I've never seen a 700% in any planet! WOO!

Hello. I would like to ask you great modders for some help. I don't know much about modding, but I want to be able to go in and change the games random planet names, and customize them for myself. So instead of getting Solaris star... with planets called Solaris 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... or whatever they're called, I want to be able to rename them to give them all unique names. Can any mod makers out there, or anybody in general brainstorm up an idea for what to do with uninhabitable planets? Something that upsets me about this game is those beautiful planets out there, with no use for them... even if they are not imperative to gameplay, I would like to at least do something with them other than look at them. Hey. Sorry if this has been posted before. I searched, and could not find anything. Is there any way for the engine to handle more than 9 AI races... not counting minor races. It would be great and have a larger sense of scope(and if my computer could handle it), if I could compete against 20 AI races, not counting minor races... on a truely gigantic map.

I must say that I am supremely suppressed by the level of commitment and caring that Stardock has shown to their player base. I have never experience such a thing from any other game developer, with the exception of Valve Software, and even then they do not shine as much as you do in your standards for communication with the players. Truely a job well done, and I can't wait for this patch!

I have noticed this. I gifted ships to a friendly race who was attacking a bigger race. He kept them around my planet the whole time, and didn't make as much of an effort as he could have to aid his war effort, which lasted almost the whole game.

Here should be a good one. Hope it wasn't suggested. Trading with other races. You should be able to take a technology, or another item, and if your only goal is money, you should be able to have a 'trade this with this race for as much money as they will offer'. I posted this in my other thread, but it seems as if it got no replies. In a custom race, if you save it and load it, it'll increase its logistics by +4. if you do it again, it'll increase it by another 4. it'll keep doing this as long as you want, and you can have lots of logistics from the getgo. Which is not good, cause it costs you nothing and is a glitch/exploit.

As the subtitle says, I take my turns too fast. I'm doing something, and I have the urge, and often do end turn, end turn, end turn, end turn. Mostly i'm sure there's nothing I want to do, but I dunno... there's something that compels me to just end turn often and alot. Anybody else do this? When creating a new race, if you save and load the race, you get an added logistics bonus for your racial bonus. This can be done again and again for high logistics count. This is indeed a bug.

I think this is a bug. I don't know why it does it... but here goes. When you're creating a new race. If you save that race, and reload it, your logistic race bonus gets bumped up like 4 points. You can keep doing this again and again, and it'll keep going up and up. I didn't even realize why my race had +30 logistics as a race bonus, and my other custom race didn't... trying to figure out how, led me to find this bug.

When I start a turn a ton of ships/fleets that are on auto-pilot just sit there and won't continue along their path until I hit end turn. Sometimes I want them all to do their thing *before* the turn is over because I wanna know how many of the ships on their way to point X will make it before the turn is out, or if planet Z will

To answer all the latest questions. Yes, they're still in the galciv2/ships folder in my doctuments... the ships are still there technically, since I load the saved game I used to create them(even though I lose shortly after loading that), and they're still there. That saved game was created only after the latest patch was installed. And I did create at least 'one' of each design. In fact I created more than one of each design.

Can we have a optinal toggle for a 'Turn End Notification'? When i'm playing, I click end turn, and it often doesn't seem like its doing anything at all. I'd have better peace of mind if I could see that the turn was indeed finished, and click a button before doing my moves for the next turn. There's not enough sensory input to the player, for me to feel satisfied after a turn has ended.

When I said old game, I meant the latest game I made... which in fact was after this latest patch, since its the only time I actually really created a game. And I have only done everything so far without metaverse, in sandbox games.

Also, ship designs only show up for the same race type. If you design a bunch of ships for the 'human' ship type, they aren't going to show up when you play as the torians. Yeah, I was playing the exact same race. Nothing was changed. Exact same everything, just a new game.
