Ok, I finally got the game running today. It turns out that during initialization the game might have been defaulting to my fax/modem for sound instead of using my sound card. Anyway, going into the Win98SE control panel and changing the sound playback setting to game compatible device seemed to do the trick. However, it is odd that this is the first time that I have encountered this particular problem. On an unrelated matter, has anyone noticed that the game starts to hang after a couple hours

When I start the game my screen goes black, then I get a cursor for a few seconds, after which I am dumped back to my desktop. I meet or exceed all requirements, although my sound card is a bit long in the tooth but I have had no problems with other games. Error report from the game directory follows. Any ideas? Thanks!
