I've got an idea, fix the problem that causes the game to crash to windows everytime I try and play. Same problem that a lot of folks are having in Windows Vista.
I am running an admin account and whenever the game crashes to the desktop (which is everytime I try and play) I check to see if a debug.err message was generated and sure enough it hasn't. Don't know what to tell you guys but I wish I could troubleshoot this problem since it seems like a lot of folks are experiencing the same thing. The same problem happens in both Dark Avatar and Dread Lords, it just randomly crashes to the desktop. I have the latest drivers and am running Vista 32-bit. I'

Hi there, still having issues with the game freezing up in Vista. I have the latest drivers and still no avail. I play for 10-30 min and the game locks up. I've searched everywhere on my hard drive for the debug.err but it doesn't seem to exist. I can't even uninstall the game. There's no uninstall.exe type file and the program manager won't let me uninstall the game from there either. Still can't find the debug.err file anywhere. I tried downloading the modded drivers from laptogo2video.com but still having issues. I've searched my computer for anything with the word debug in it and nothing shows. This is ridiculous, I can't even uninstall the game. Did they not put a uninstall function in the game??
Hmmm, I've searched in all the galciv2 and Dark avatar folders and there is no bug report or debug.err file. I've installed beta 1.6 and no change.

Okay, I've read many of the posts and I don't seem to be alone in the fact that Dark Avatar freezes after between 30-50 turns. The cursor is still active but none of the buttons are functional. I'm running Vista with 2 gigs ram and a Geforce go 7400 vid card and dual core T7400 processors. This is extremely annoying and I'm hoping someone can help me out before I erase the game and seek to get my money back. I've downloaded the latest drivers available but to no avail. Looking for some help.
