Multiplayer's really the only feature I'd consider paying for in an expansion. I dont think there's anything else that could add enough to the game to make it worth more money

Expansions only go so far. I dont think they're worth the money most of the time. They're not going to totally redesign game elements. That's what they save for sequels. The only thing I'd expect to see in an expansion that might be worth paying for is Multiplayer, tho that really should be part of the original game. I know this thread isnt about multiplayer but, realistically, what else could they put in an expansion? More ship components, more techs, new campaign, new races. Personally, I dont
I cant say exactly where but I've seen that a lot when I'm designing ships in the sandbox game I'm playing now. Never that extreme but it's enough to mess things up. Usually it's like a weapon that it says takes 11 slots but after placing it I'm only 9 slots down. And if the ship only has 10 slots left it wont let me place another one of those 11/9 weapons. I even designed a ship once that was over
Random wormholes that work the same way, minus the option to build them, could be good too. Or just stargates that are randomly placed on the map when the game starts, whether you can build more or not. "Birth of the Federation" had a few good elements that Stardock should really consider... being inspired by.
I didnt get through the whole post but I'm going to say.... no.
This has probably been mentioned before but just in case it hasnt, the game needs the option to decimate undefended worlds from orbit - without transports. I'm sure this has been brought up before. Feel free to point me toward the discussion
