really? I can easy blow Civ4 AI away on Noble using just about any strategy even on my first game. Even with Brake mod noble is easy to beat. Also Civ4 diplomacy and units are a lot more limited than in Galciv2. I seriously doubt it, at least you wouldn't with the latest AI, which wins easily by culture long before you can conquer the w

The fact is it's really harder to win in Civ4 with no bonus than in Galciv2. I never lost any game in Galciv2... As for the dumb decisions you talk about, you have many more of them in Galciv2 than in Civ4 in my opinion : attacked AI who forgot to build any ship defense (did you see any undefended city in Civ4 ? I didn't), AI who surrender to people they don't even know (doesn't happen in Civ4 either), unescorted transports, and so on... It doesn't look 'real' at all, it feels artificial. Those

Seriously guys, I even never get invaded, do you ?? Last game I played on tough (no advantage for the CPU, but neither for me), I just built a few ships and invaded my neighbour et voila, it was won. The Krynn didn't build any defender because it research colonization techs. That's so stupid. In Civ4 if you attack the AI at least it can rush defenders, and it researches military techs. I don't call that a 'brilliant AI'. It's not bad, but it definitely needs some work... Do you sometime

I can't understand why some people say that on these forums... The AI seems okay to me, but Civ4 AI is far better, especially with warlords and the 'BetterAI' plugin... In galciv2 you have hundreds of flaws in the AI that you can use to win. They don't invade well, they don't surrender at the good time, they don't use diplomacy well, they don't really exploit your weaknesses and so on... In Civ4 the AI does a much better job of using its strengths. They know how to win by conquest or by culture.

It's okay, except that most of the strategies described have apparently been adressed in the latest build (there's a link somewhere to download it) according to the release notes : - AI much pickier about what it trades - Minor races much less rich - AI defending better its home sector. If anybody played with the latest beta build (after 1.0X) please report these exploits have been adressed.

Several bugs I noticed on version 1.0X (the latest one) : - I invaded the home planet of a minor race (Akilians) and when I got it, its population was suddenly huge (thousands of billions). As a consequence, my influence was suddenly everywhere in the galaxy. The next turn the population was at the planet max so it was ok (except it should have been much lower due to the invasion, of course, but at least the number was realistic), but the influence was still everywhere in the galaxy
