I think I've actually got this once in GalCiv1. I'm not sure, but if I remember, I was in last place and I got it. However, one of the strong races eventually (in the next 50 turns) came by and stomped me, so it didn't matter.

1) Start off homebase with one factory... makes production faster afterwards. Depending on your racial bonuses or how you want to play, develop the home planet to either research, economy or factories. Try to specialize a bit because your home planet is going to be the strongest planet you own until you find/conquer a better PQ planet in the early middle game (dependant on galaxy size and number of planets, etc) 2) I pump out colony ships and 2 scouts in the early game for the plane

The "Influence Flood" happened to me last night when I conquered Iconia from the Yor Collective as the Torian Confederation. I thought something was wrong when everything turned green on the minimap. I also have a save of this after it hit. Every planet which I didn't own had a poison sign on it as I had 1900 influence. Then after I hit turn twice, it went back to normal. Too bad I didn't get any free planets during those turns. Gigantic map, normal, all 10 races.

Same experience with minor races here. Stardock, is it possible to get the minor races to be smarter and perhaps colonize like they did in GalCiv1? I can understand that they don't go about conquering, but so far on Normal mode, they have only stayed on their home world waiting to get conquered without even defending too much. Minor races shouldn't be useless meaningless races. I remember in many GalCiv1 games where a minor races or two became a major power, both militarily and t

I used 2 transports to invade the Drengin home planet on the same turn, but seperately. The first transport took out approximately 5.6 billion. The second one didn't get as lucky but I ended up winning with only 34 troops remaining. However, after this supposed "successful" invasion, the planet still belonged to the Drengin. Is this a bug or do I need a sizable occuping army before the planet fall under my control?

Alike many people here, I'm also a GalCiv1 player. Even though I know the basics from the first edition, the tutorials were pretty good in giving me a run-down on what I those Stardockers added in GC2. The lack of interaction during the tutorials may not be the best method of teaching, but you can always start a civilization in an easy mode (cakewalk, beginner, etc.) and give it a whirl. Once you get a bit more familiar with the interface and menus, the tutorials make infinitely more sense. I
