"Beta" and "Stable" are not really antipodal. I suggest using the beta, as it looks far better than 1.09X (or whatever). Both of them have a chance of crashing, but the beta probably has fewer bugs. Antipodal...interesting word usage. Anyway, I think you have your logic reversed. I've been playing 1.09x for several weeks, without a single c

The maturity level in this forum is shocking... To the original poster: No, this game is not bugged. Have you noticed the dozens of high reviews? Gamespot would not have given GalCiv2 an Editor's Choice Award if the game was badly bugged. In fact, I have been playing for three weeks without a single bug or crash. I would suggest emailing Tech Su

Sounds like you are building to many ships, perhaps? Keep in mind each ship costs $$$ in maintanance, so, I would suggest focus more on research and economic buildings, build more starbases and freighters, and only build a limited number of larger warships until the end-game. Good luck! The game is challenging, but, that's part of the fun. Keep trying different things, read the posts here in the forum, and, keep at it! <img src="htt

Thanks, I downloaded and installed it too. It's nice, but, a bit too "dark" and "kiddy" for me (It scared my wife! heehee). Maybe they can release a "human faction" version, that would feature the human faction color scheme, the pretty blue and white Stardock logo for the background, or something more "Federation-ish"?

Wikis and readme's are great, but, some gamers, like me, like having something to read and enjoy, not just reading a changelog or browsing through hyper-text links on a website. I often read my user manual, even after I've had the game for weeks, finding new things, getting inspiration to try new ideas out, and just having something to read while on the throne. Of course, a pdf manual is a bit hard to read in the restroom, but, you get the idea. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/g

Stardock, I said in the player review thread, but I'll say it again, great job! I am really enjoying GalCiv2. I have a couple questions: 1. Is there a forum search button? I can't seem to find it. 2. I find myself reading the forums while at work all day. I noticed in a thread that someone had posted a link to the manual .pdf file. I can't find that post again, and, it would be nice to read it while at work. Could you please point it out to me again, or, could someon

Stardock, I would really like to see an in-game user manual or perhaps some form of in-game 'Galacta-pedia' that you can easily access while playing. Currently, I have to exit the game to view the manual, or alt-tab out of the game, which isn't convenient. Also, in time, I'm sure the print-manual (I don't have one since I purchased online) and the pdf manual that I downloaded with my purchase will become obsolete. An in-game user manual, game-guide, or what-not could be updated with each

have to say I find most of these posts hard to believe. I have not had a single CTD or any real problem and I've been playing it since day one. I must just be lucky. I agree, I haven't had a single CTD, bug, or any problem at all downloading, installing, or playing this game.

Stardock, After playing Galciv2 for the past few nights (late, late nights) I have three words for you: Oh My God ...with that said, I'll elaborate. I never played the first GalCiv, though not for any particular reason, I just never got around to buying it, though, I always thought it looked interesting. I didn't even know GalCiv2 was coming o
