My apologies.....I figured it out. They go in your my documents/my games/gc2twilightarnor/gfx/portraits folder.

I am trying to add some custom race image files to the game.....I have added .png files to the race folder in the graphics folder of the galciv2 folder, the dark avatar folder and the twighlight folder, but they are still not showing up in the game. when I try to create a custom race, I just get the default image files. what am I doing wrong here? Obviously I'm putting the .png files in the wrong folders, but where should I be putting them, if not in the race folders? Thanks.
That's a good idea, using the imagination....which is why generic turn numbers would be nice. They can stand for whatever you want them to. Imagination is good for filling in gaps or missing details(some games get worse when the graphics get better and when they get more in depth) but if you're going to use it to pretend game features that are there aren't there, or pretend the screen isn't showing what it is showing, you might as well just play solitaire and pretend you're playing GalCiv3. I always think of the 'improvements' as massive arcologies, hence why you can only have one factory on an entire continent. The resources it takes to build even a corvette-sized ship in a few weeks requires a massive industry infrastructure, hence enormous building dedicated to it. For reference - it takes eight months to build an F-15. I think the whole time scale of this game is rediculous. Why have each turn represent only one week? In my current game I've gone from m
I noticed the random tile placement too, but I got over it by just thinking of them as slots to fill rather than a literal representation of the location of individual buildings.
The problem was that I didn't uninstall my beta version! Once I did that everything worked fine. Anyone else who has this problem....make sure you've uninstalled the beta version first! You can do it straight from Stardock Central by right clicking on your Twilight icon in the My Games section.
Aha.....if you have the beta version you have to uninstall it before installing the full release version. ;p
re: #5 I'm having the same problem. Glad to hear canceling and starting over does the trick!
Let me know how it goes! I made a top post about this about ten minutes ago but it is not showing up on the forum. :/
I've been at it for three hours now.....it downloads all the way to 100% then starts over. It has done this a number of times and each time it is the same file name gc2_Twilight.sdc so it is not a series of consecutive files that you need to run the game. Is this happening to anyone else or is it just me?
It just happened AGAIN. I starting to wonder if I should cancel and start over or if it has to do this ten or twenty times before it will kick in?
The same thing is happening to me, except it is going all the way up to 100%, then starting over at zero. This has happened at least half a dozen times over nearly three hours so far, and is still going.
I fixed it by setting the scroll wheel to "middle button".
Has anyone else using a trackball had this problem?
I didn't have a generic button option but I do have an unassigned option. I tried that, but it didn't work. Thanks for the quick replies by the way!
I had it set to universal scroll. I tried switching it to autoscroll, to no avail.
I hold down the scroll wheel button and move the trackball but the screen view does not rotate. Is the game incompatable with trackballs? Or is there a setting that needs to be changed in order to rotate with a trackball? Thanks.
Is there a random seed to mega-events? Can you go back to the last auto-save and avoid the event if you don't want to play through it?
Well that kinda blows. Oh well.
I pre-ordered GC2-Dark Avatar but I cannot download the beta. I got an order confirmation number but no serial number to plug in. The email just says they'll send me another email when the product is available. Does this happen to everyone or did I do something wrong?
We are not heading towards fascism, it only seems like we are, because political rhetoric has been perfected to a science in recent years, much like it was the last time fascism reared it's ugly head. The stakes seem so much higher because they need to be higher in order to be persuasive. We are fat and lazy and need to be scared into voting or we'll stay home. And both sides do it.
Ah, too bad you can't do it already....it'll be nice if DA does make it available though. It's not of the utmost importance but I would like to make an empire that spans the reaches of time and space.....it would give it more of an epic feel in my opinion. Plus it does stretch the imagination a bit to think you can make an empire with tens of billions of people in it after less than ten years.
Is this something that can be modded?
