I think "Hotseat" would be what I want. It´s not real multiplayer, so I *think* it could conceivably done in a free update. There are no network problems to be taken care of, and if game balance gets a bit upset by two human players , it is okay, because that happens when you see what your counterpart is doing ( no real spying on him, etc. ). Really, the game would gain 200% enjoyment for me, if hotseat multiplayer would be implemented. I could conceivably revive those excellent days o

How about adding hot-seat multiplayer? Can´t be *too* difficult, as the "structures" are still build into the engine and you kinda, sorta can cheat yourself a hot-seat match anyway. ^^ No, really. I imagine the whole network stuff for *real* multiplayer would be tons of work, but hot-seat basically is "add another player and let them play turn after turn". I miss my MOO2 hot-seat afternoons with my friends. <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Mad.gif" border=0

I know I sound grumpy, but would it have been too much to ask to add hotseat multiplayer? I understand that network multiplayer is a lot of work, but hotseat shouldn´t be that hard to implement. Playing Master of Orion 2 hotseat, I spent uncountable hours with my friends playing that game and I really miss that.

Don´t worry, the writers at that magazine are able to speak and read english... we already provided a link to Brads response on the forum, I guess we´ll get some sort of answer on monday.

PS: I was wondering how long it woud take for something like this to come up. What's with all the sudden AI cheating thread... didn't we go over this ages ago? German print magazines have been panning the game pretty universally. The worst review came in from GameStar, which is the biggest print magaz

Yeah, my opinion. While I am not affected by no German versions, the players who would love to play your game and don´t speak English would suffer. No shooting of the messengers, please.

Ok, here goes the negative part of the review... I don´t really have the time at the moment to translate it completely. "The bad part is that the AI seldom does play fairly. The opponents cheat themselves techologies and always know where are habitable planets, while you have to explore the galaxy. Also, the starting points are most of the time unf

I can only speak for the Gamestar review ( Gamestar is the most sold magazine in Germany for PC Game testing ). They panned the AI and the starting positions. It was only a one page review, so it wasn´t all that detailed. I´ll try to translate the relevant bits later on, as I need to go out now.

German print magazines have pretty much panned Galactic Civilizations 2. The best test was 75%, the worst, by the biggest German print magazine Gamestar, 62%. In that particular test, the tester Michael Graf opined that the KI does cheat, because it sends ships straight in a beeline at the best planets, according to him. Also, he says, it produces ( on a non-production intensive planet ) every turn a new ship, without having the funds to buy them and b

Aaaand I was just advised by a fellow poster on the GS Boards, that there are several threads pertaining that subject here already. Well, we need a search function for these forums.

Well, obviously we should be talking about the expansion, which after the stunning comercial success GalCiv 2 has, is surely coming along. 1.) Hotseat: The only multiplayer I really care about 2.) More ship hulls: I´d like to have more models available... more tinkering is good. 3.) Larger ships.... Dreadnoughts? Hah, I want Star

Well, the solution to losing your movement is pretty easy... you do all your stuff first, then control the other race. Presto. Only thing that might be bad is that the AI may do stuff with your diplomacy that you don´t want it to...
