It was my first play, and no, I do not have it Load on Startup. I guess I should. :)
PsionStorm
Well that's fairly odd... I changed the setting, ran the game off my save, the carrier came in just like it did before, got destroyed, and the game didn't crash. I did reboot and run a spyware scan last night, so it's possible that fixed whatever was causing the conflict. Anyhow, I've got the debug enabled, so if it happens again in the course of the game, I'll post the log. Thanks for the help. :)
Psion, I can't stress this enough: if you have a crash or bug in a mod, the easiest way to get it fixed is to enable logging in your user.settings file, and send the log to whoever made the mod. These logs really help, and if there's something going wrong that leads to the minidump, Uzii will be able to fix it.
I missed the original post where you mentioned this. Could you tell me where to find the file?
Hey Uzii, first off awesome mod! I've been running the newest version and I'm getting a MiniDump error that crashes the game. I'm playing on a random huge map, one star, as TEC, against one hard Advent CPU. The computer sends it's already damaged carrier towards one of my planets, my bombers kill it, and the game crashes shortly after the explosion, regardless if I'm zoomed in or not. I did not notice any errors like this in previous versions of this mod. Any other
Wow, absolutely amazing! These are definitely inspiring to me, makes me wanna run home and try my hand at it again! Thanks for the pics, excellent work!
Nevermind. Just saw the link to the Metaverse forum, and found my answer there. I R DUM. Thanks folks.
Ok, so I saw a previous post where someone mentioned they played a Metaverse game. I have no idea what the Metaverse is. I see the button on my game screen, but haven't checked it out yet. It is for an online game? I was under the impression there was no multiplayer.
Hm... I'm liking the prototype design idea. I haven't spent too terribly much time in the ship designer, as I only started building a few yesterday, but I was running into the problems you mentioned when I tried to upgrade them with different engines. It'll be much easier to just take the prototype hull and asthetics, and build anew from there, with engines and weapons and the like. Thanks!
Gamespot gave the game a glowing review too - very high praise. Forget the number, the reviewer genuinely enjoyed the game! http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/galacticcivilizations2/review.html?sid=6145309
With the specialization of planets, would you recommend a certain planet rating for certain tasks (Class 5 or 6 for manufacturing, class 12 or 13 for research, etc)? For the most part I've been balancing out my planets. I've also been trying to keep a starport on almost every planet class 8 or higher. I find that my people tend to complain alot if I keep my taxes higher than 30%. Any suggestions on how I could raise the tax and still ke
Hey folks. Just picked up the game last week, and I love it. As a beginner to this game though, I'm noticing some things aren't going quite how I would've expected them to (like new ships becoming available after researching certain techs). I chalk it up to being new, though. Anyhow, I'm looking for some simple, basic suggestions to get me going better than I am now. I'm open to anything. <img src="smiles/BigSmile.gif" border
