Far too frantic and linear for my blood, though I am looking forward to watching my son playing it. It looks stunning, and it wouldn't surprise me to see Gears Of War spawning a movie or two at some point. Now that really would be cool! Personally, I'd pay a king's ransom for a true turn-based strategy game on the 360. Something along the lines of Gladius would be nice.

PS why are quotes broken? if I put two quotes in one thread it messes everything up. Are you copying the second block of text to the clipboard, before pressing the quote button? The way to do it is: 1) Select the first block of text, and press quote. 2) Select the second block of text, right-click on it, and copy it to
I'm downloading the SE:V patch right now. As compensation for being one day late, the patch is at v1.08, with even more bugfixes. Nice one bighouse! I'm sure that many of us would like to share your thoughts on the game. Please keep us po
Therefore I'd very much like to hear what people think of the new Space Empries game - good or bad - it will help me decide whether or not to buy it (demo takes way too long to download). I've only played the demo, and, as mentioned earlier, it's got more bugs in it than a tramp's vest! In the 10-12 hours I've invested in it, I've been treated t
It occurs to me, that buggy demos and retail releases are fast becoming the norm, rather than the exception. That said, I wouldn't be too quick to write the game off as a 'flop'. The Space Empires series does have a very strong fan base, and the 1.07 patch notes do infer that most of the game's ills will be cured! On a personal note, I rather like the demo. IMO the new game has a much less abstract feel to it than it's predecessor, which always struck me as b
I really hope they upgrade the ship design area. Me too. An auto-upgrade button, (as featured in Space Empires) would make a very nice addition to the game. Not that I'm hinting, or anything Brad!
I'm in Robin Hood's neck of the woods, (no pun intended). Nottinghamshire, in the UK.
I'd just like to thank terpfan for submitting such a well written, and informative review. I'm expecting delivery of a 360 any day now. So, for me at least, ANY feedback from a 360 owner is greatly appreciated. Nice work terpfan.
1) Stardock and the having to sign on business. Can't stand it. I don't see it as a problem. At least you know where to look for the updates! And, you can rest easy in your bed, secure in the knowledge that your name, and email address, aren't being flogged off to the highest bidder. Some
You're a genius, and an absolute star Tennessee Trash..........and thank you so much for that! The game is up and running guys!
Thanks Malekish, I will do that. My son has suggested that the SID (or security Identifier) is the most likely suspect. Apparently, a new SID is generated by Windows at each install. So, if SID's are being used to marry serial numbers to individual PC's, then it seems likely that anyone who reinstalls Windows will encounter the exact same problem. I wonder...........does that classify it as a bug, or an oversight? <im
Thanks for that Marcathonas. Here's the debug.err. Debug Message: Version v1.1 BETA-3 last updated on: Thu Apr 6 14:45:50 2006 Debug Message: Could not find a TGN Serial No. I hope it helps!
Can some kind soul kindly enlighten me on how to get the game to running again after reinstalling Windows XP? I've reinstalled Stardock Central and got my account up and running, in fact, I've even managed to update the game to the latest beta. However, when I try to run the game I get the following error message: 'The product appears to be validated but the serial number or the machine SID don't match.' Can't qui
You can upgrade ships, but you don't need constructors to do it. You simply double click on the ship, and select upgrade, then pick what you want to upgrade to from the menu.
There's some Star Trek related humour in there as well. Try playing as Spock, and if you're luck's in, the AI will greet you with......"I suppose I should be asking for your autograph". Nice work there guys!
Except that maybe in the meantime the PC will colonize the good planet. I usually buy a starport, AND a colony ship, on the same turn that I colonize the planet. They don't beat me to it then! <img src="http://images.stardock.com/gc2/T_DL/smiles/Smile.gif" border=0 ALIGN="absm
Basically Im interested in seeing the played being able to propse bills in the senate as opposed to it being just totally random. For e.g the Arceans have 8 starbases in my rather penniless empire. And i want to cash in on his infringement of my space. Basically I want to go into the senate and propose the bill for Starbases Clut
Do you know anyone that could borrow you a memory stick or a zip drive? Either would do, though having to buy one yourself, would probably cost you more that re-buying the game when you get home.
I need help guys... I have just downloaded the game and I'm ready to play. But there is a problem... I'm at work !!!! Is there any way to get the downloaded files from my work pc to the computer which is at my home and play there ???? Well, you could nip out on your lunch break and b
