Nuts. I've disabled 'automatically restart' as you've suggessted Kryo and the computer crashed again, restarting without any BSOD! grrr.... I did look at the event viewer and saw a DCOM Error in the system log around the time of the crash: "The machine wide Default Launch and Activation security descriptor is invalid. It contains Access Control Entries with permissions that are invalid. The requested action was therefore not performed. This security permission can be corrected usi

The game does a hard crash, randomly, and the whole system reboots itself. There is a 5-10 lock-up, stuttering of music or sounds effects and then the system reboots itself. Then it does a system check to repair bad sectors. I didn't post the whole thing since there were no extra lines added after the crash. I made note of the number of lines in the code and no extra lines were added after rebooting from the crash. I also didn't see anything unusual in the log other than the fact th
Upfront: I'm on a dual boot MacBook Pro, partioned (of course), Windows XP. The video drive is a ATI Mobility Radeon X1600 and the driver for it has a stamp of 3/2/2006. I know this is not really supported but I thought I'd throw this out anyway... I tried using the SmartException program but when the system crashes it doesn't seem to log anything from the crash (?) I've got the latest drivers of BootCamp (1.1.2) and it looks like the same driver as before. I guess getting
As far as I can tell, the Metaverse login only works with IE on a Windows platform. It did not work on Firefox on either Windows or MAC OS X.
My idea is to allow for bonuses on placement of complimentary structures in adjacent tiles on planets. This would add a slight layer of strategy to an otherwise pure eye-candy exercise of structure placement (other than the random bonus tiles).
Ah ok Whillowhim ... Some of these techs are begging to be modded. LIke "near omniscience"... it would be cool if getting this tech gave a researc bonus
Has anyone used this ability in the game? 'm not sure I really understand this tech from the description in the game..
Yeah ChaosD really has an idea for the best implementation for carriers: add it as a modules then add some techs for pickets/def ++ and bombers/att ++ The HPs should be relatively low....
1. We turn the constructors into dinner plates and silverware and the colonists into lunch meats. 2. Please build as many farms as possible to make the colonists plump and juicy. 3. Every tech you develop should be made with one goal in mind: how can I grow fat colonists? 4. Don't worry about that, just grow your colony population. 5. Just build farms and keep it simple. 6. Spend as little time as possible except for strateger
It depends entirely on the situation. The success of the Siege scenario depends on having a relatively high population so yuo can attack and defend your planets. Even against a very high technology enemy, numbers can win the day.
Related to this: I've seen postings where people talk about "converting" colony ships. Does this involve upgrading them with constructor modules?
True but there is no strategy to the placement of such items in a particular tile other than the bonus tiles.
Planet tiles: Area effects for placement of structures on planets. Right now, the only strategy involved with the placement of structures on planets are the bonus tiles. It might be cool to get bonuses say, for example, if you have research centers placed to one another. I'm sure this has already been thought of though!
Thanks LeegleechN! Hogs and quiches for you!
Hey BoogieBac how is that scenario accessed? Does it become available after the Campaign or is it a download somewhere? thanks!
Is there a way to unlock all the content so I can freely build ships ala a Sandbox mode for the ship designer? Thanks! Flame away if this has already been discussed!
Thanks EF! i've no idea about the coding time but this would also swing the other way for invasions. Say the planet just happens to have five factories, one in the center tile and one on each side of it. If that center tile/factory just happens to be destroyed during an invasion, the extra kick the planet had (besides losing the factory itself) is also lost. I was thinking a smaller bonus than 10%, like perhaps 2.5% which would lead to an overall

I designed a freighter, this freighter had greater speed than the CORE design It seems speed is irrelevant when considering revenue (i.e.,"I don't care how fast you got my shipment of Tyrelian space wine here, I'm not paying you one credit more!")
Yeah, wouldn't it have been great if the default pic for the humans was Octavia Butler!
Sorry if this is posted elsewhere but is there a tech database (e.g., Starbase Conquest Strategy, conquer through starbase influence....) for definitions of the techs availble online somewhere as a PDF or something? I didn't see it in the wiki... That should be a straightforward dump to the wiki database no?
Thanks much Crusty!
Is it possible to import x files into Blender? Or will only 3ds max, studio max do it? $4000 for studio max?!? wtf?
