Sorry - war is war. Of course, good factions shouldn't be able to nuke planets, but evil one, why not? C'mon they don't care so much about their own citizens, so what can stop them from blowing up planet full of tree-hugging Altarians ?
To my understanding the game favors offensive side which is attacking a planet, as you SHOULD build ship and fight in the galaxy, not on your planets, which can be mass driven... Said that, I wonder how hard it can be for you to recapture the planet. Simply make new soldiers, develop new techs and get rid of 'em! GL
I bought the game in www.game.co.uk shop - they had it, and they send it to me quite fast.
I've asked this question on irc channel, but noone could anserw me, so I would like to post it here: I started the campaign missions. In the first mission right off the bat I emerged into starship designer. There I tried to make some simple colony ships but obviously with some nifty additional parts. After puting an ion engine and colony module I ran out of space. I was shocked as I previously saw that the original design had 3 Life supports
"No tech trading option" --- This is a nice option, but I see it as somewhat half measure - it gives you two options: play with AI 'cheating' or don't play with tech trading at all. My opinion is to 'simply' tweak the tech trade mechanism.
Stardock, I owe you one! A few hours before I ordered the game in game.co.uk. I was hesitating, since even being RTS / TBS gamer, I tended to frown upon 4x games, but after seing how well you care of your customers and how good your bias towards gamers is (ie. no super-duper protection against hackers) I bought your game - you deserve it.
